This is what happens when people stop trying to help those who have homosexual thoughts. These poor people who practice homosexual behaviors on adults or children are crying out for help and society is not helping them right now and we are all suffering. There should be Christian and non-Christian walk in clinics in every town where people who have homosexual thoughts can get the help and counceling they deserve with total acceptance back to society. The "gay marriage" charade is hurting these poor people, their families and all of society. Now these poor kids on the bus are wounded and we could have stopped it before it all began. Let's roll up our sleeves and tell these people practicing homosexual behaviors that they either get the help they need or stay away from our kids and families.!

Thanks for having the guts to speak the truth. What the defenders don't quite get is that if there is a stray gene for gay behavior, then there is one for pedophilia, one for cross dressing, one for transgender urges, one for bestiality, one for bisexual, and one for all of those folks in thier 30s who suddenly remember they're gay.

People claim they have had homosexual urges as far back as they can remember. There are also people who remember having desires as far back as they can remember that include mutilating animals and tormenting other kids, and, eventually, even worse....far worse. The difference is that some of those wrong urges have more dramatic and (immediately) harmful consequences, and are (hopefully) stopped in time. But, as it is, sodomy in today's culture has been embraced as okay.

Let's not stand up and pretend to focus on another issue because it's easier to bash 'gay' people. How about taking the passion you fill to 'rid' the world of homosexuality and instead spend your time understanding that this is not a 'hand-held' issue. One does not directly flow into the other.

You talk about helping people- and 'stopping this' in time,(which I think everyone would appreciate re: molestation,) but helping one while holding down another is not actually helping, at all. Want to stop it in time? Kindness goes a long way. I would wager that this man-(who has obvious tendencies for pedophilia and the like,) had -something- happen to him. Was he bullied? Did he experience a loss that changed the chemistry of who he was? Was he born with this 'gene' and it wasn't 'figured out' in time?

The point is: We can have sympathy for these children, and stop bullying and holding down an entire population so that we don't create more of Peter Stibal II's. Because now? It's too late.

I don't care at all if Peter is stoned, or has life in prison. I do care about the children he hurt.

Remind me how gay sexual practice is any more or less moral than heterosexual sex. You compare it to mutilating animals and torturing children, which are both non-consensual violent acts. Gay sex isn't like those -- not any more than non-gay sex.
We had a story about a girl scout leader abusing his charges just this week too. The issue is abuse of power, here, not orientation. In this case, too, the guy *obviously* wasn't openly gay anyway given Boy Scout policy.

Scouting originated in England. In England today the official Scout policy is to not discriminate against scouts or scouters on the basis of sexual orientation.

I would be curious to see enrollment and financial support trends in the US and English scouting programs.

True--it is so rare that I get challenged in an intelligent manner that I don't mind you exposing the weakness of my argument....

I still think he's gay, though. That pix is lighting up my gaydar. We know one of the most important things to the media is to portray gays solely as victims, and when they do something bad just like mere mortals, it is difficult for them. Were he straight, they would have worked it into the story, just to ward off this sort of discussion.

You are arguing from lack of evidence by presuming that the local boy scouts were enforcing the national no-gay policy. In any case, perhaps dude was en closette as you suggest.

My own experience with scouting as a dad was that there are very few people willing to volunteer to work as scout leaders, and I suspect anybody who seems nice and is willing to help isn't going to get hassled if some clueless straight people don't get a vibe from him--or don't have proof.

I say this not in a mean way, but in a 'let's get real' way--how many gay people really think dude is straight?
