Cannot think of a single reason to send Felmlee to the State House. When major issues arise at the Borough, he is like Waldo. You cannot find him. When tough votes are taken, he waits until the outcome is clear before he states his opinion. As President of Lewistown Borough Council, he has the power to make things happen. What happened is, our taxes went up 2 mills (16%) to pay for a wage increase of 3% for the Borough employees. What happened is, we now spend 1.4 million for our new and improved LPD of 8 rookie officers rather the 1.2 million and had access to 30 experienced officers. What happened is, our streets are in the worst condition they have been in for as long as I can remember. All that is just at the local level.

Felmlee was against taxing the gas from Marcellas shale, like his buddy Gov. Corbett wanted him to be. Felmlee is everything I don't want in a Representative to the State House. Keep him here, drinking coffee at McDonalds every morning and hiding from anything that might make sense to the rest of us.

Thanks Obama for the COLA raise after not getting one for several years. You must have notified the Sewer Authority and the Electric company in advance because they already have their hand out to take it all back. Penelec raised it's rate in January and now starting in July sewer rates are to go up. After an increase in taxes comes along we will be going in reverse again, even without the trickle down affect these increases will have on anything you buy or services you use. If that is called helping the middle class,I can't handle anymore help.

Can't think of one reason to vote for this man. It was just like Westender said, when it is time to vote, you usually can count on him not being there. I think he is afriad to let the people know what his opinion is on issues.

Just talked to someone who was at a meeting with Felmlee this evening. Felmlee introduced himself, ask for their support and then took a few questions. Every question had one of two answers. Either "I'm not familiar with that" or "I'll have something to say about that later." That's the kind of leadership we can expect from Good Old Boy Jim. He will tell you later once he knows what will be popular. At least Adam has the sense not to show his face so he doesn't even get ask the questions. They don't call him the "Phantom Rep" for nothing. Maybe Felmlee will be the "Say Nothing" candidate.

I wasn't there, but I guarantee that the questions were some version of:

"Here is MY problem. What will you do for ME. How much money are you going to get from someone else to ME?. ME ME ME"

From the office of the President right down to Borough Council, this is the only question the public asks.

I have no idea why anyone would subject themselves to that abuse. More power to Mr. Felmlee if he wants the job.

Sorry Milroy, questions were "Do you agree with the budget cuts that the Governor proposed earlier today?" "What is your opinion on charging the gas companies a fee on the Marcellus shale natural gas they extract?" What will you do to represent us if you are successful?" Not a single "What will you for me?"

I'm not really sure he wants the job, just the title and money. Mifflin Counties version of what we have now, Adam Harris. You never see Harris, you never see Felmlee and I doubt we ever will. If it doesn't benefit Felmlee, it doesn't matter and it won't get done. He talks a good game but that's all it is.

Speaking of garbage collector, this may be the ONLY reason to vote for Ron Paul for President. This morning the police were dispatched to investigate a man with a pick-up truck picking up metal from the garbage people set out to the curb. The police first didn't see a problem with it if it was garbage out along the street and not on ptivate property, but the dispatcher wanted him to 10-21 the station for an explanation(not in public). So now the question remains was the trash collector told not to do it or what happened to him? Next question is are they going to have that same policy for the elderly lady that spends her day on market street gathering cans out of the trash to make a few dollars? I'm sure the police passed her many times and are they going to use that policy when they have a clean up day and someones junk is another ones treasure?

Jim Knepp is making a run for that seat too. My vote goes to him. Let's keep the good ole boy network out of office. It would be nice to see a new face with good ideas in official.

You're correct, it was Lewistown, I think North Brown St, but the elderly lady that does the same thing looking for cans usually is on Market St. Lewistown. I can't see a problem with either one.

Let's keep on the real topic of this thread which is Felmlee being the garbage not who or where it is being picked up. If you want to see Lewistown's real garbage go to McDonalds and you'll see them all eating breakfast every morning patting each other on the back about how great Lewistown is.

“Why all the negativity?”

I don't have a problem with it for the most part either. If I have something metal that I want to dispose of, I put it out to the curb the day before my garbage comes and don't bother with putting a bulk item sticker on it until the next day if it's still there because typically that guy (scruffy looking guy that drives an old white Dodge truck) comes around and takes it......you can see him driving all around whatever section of town is having their garbage night every week.

My only problem with it is a lot of time he knocks your other garbage over or out into the street and doesn't bother to pick it back up.

You're in the mood to spend money on a favourite hobby or pastime today, so take care if you're supposed to making every penny count at the moment. The temptation to treat yourself to something that you'll undoubtedly enjoy will be too strong to resist, and the trouble is that you might not restrict yourself to just one item either. It looks like being an extravagant day!
