It's not rocket science. BTW I heard that patrol officers in Brown Township caught 2 people burglarizing the Bellvue. Another good job done by Regional Police.
Wrong , it was a private citizen that alerted police of a burglary in process at Bel-vue, THREE juveniles were involved and the police were able to catch two of them trying to leave the scene and had the name of the third one that they did not apprehend at the time. All turned over to their parents, whippee, they will probably be back out on the prowl in days.

I dunno if he is from Mifflin County or not, but if so, he came back to Mifflin County to serve his community. "Roundthebend" what have these officers done to have you question their credibility? I've engaged several of them in conversation, all of which have been very professional and personal. I understand that there are still a few left from the "old school" way of doing things, but the majority of the officers out there are new and ready to do things the right way. I am very pleased and proud of the service that they provide, but then again, my municipality purchases the appropriate amount of service needed to cover the calls and have patrol time. I for one am in favor of patrol time; as it prevents crime. It's not rocket science. BTW I heard that patrol officers in Brown Township caught 2 people burglarizing the Bellvue. Another good job done by Regional Police.
Enis could have caught them kids oming out of a basement window.

Good. I'm glad a citizen alerted police. That is the way it is supposed to work. Maybe you are not aware that the police don't have telepathic powers to know where and when crimes are being committed. As such, they depend on citizens to make them aware of suspicious activity. This was a cooperative effort between concerned citizens and the police in apprending these juvinile offenders.

If these young men are left off the hook and back on the street in a few days to commit more crime, that is a flaw of the judicial system, and not the police.

The juvenile system is a joke. It's not the police officer's fault that the system is lenient towards juveniles. So could Regional Police have done anything better in your mind Lewistown Resident? Enis probably could have apprehended 2 people all by himself in his one patrol car. That's what Lewistown Borough will have in a few years when it decides to pull out. Ohh wait, they will be calling Regional Police to back them up. Good call!

By the way bigshot, I am defending the idea that Lewistown is screwing themselves by wanting out, I'm just saying there aren't any police officers with much credibility to make these citizens want to stand up and defend their honor!
I don't know all of them, but the ones I've met have been very professional.

You should be grateful that there are fine men out there willing to risk their necks for you and your property for a starting salary of only $41,000 a year.

What Truth? Having an opinion that Lewistown Borough should stay with a high priced MCRPD. is not truth,it is an opinion. If that is truth then maybe the Sentinel poll 50% in favor of Lewistown forming its own, and 42% opposed must also be truth..
He was asking rorschach, not you. Are you getting confused now and responding to posts you typed under a different name?

Agreed. Police patrol for crime, but most of their "responses" are just that, "responding" to a report of a crime. So this officer responded to a report and did so quickly enough to catch the criminals in the act, well done on his part!!.....What happens to them after he writes his summons is out of his hands.

Lewistown Resident, if a couple of kids were burglarizing your home and/or threatening your life and you called 911 would you prefer that cop to say "well, they'll just be out on the prowl again tomorrow anyhow, why bother even responding?"

No, I don't do as JunkE does, I stand firm on my opinions. I don't need to change my name to be able to be in the majority on an opinion. Right from wrong is what I go by.

I said nothing about MPD; I'm talking about the numerous times I have answered something on here only to have you whine that the question wasn't directed at me.

Try practicing what your preach Mr. Hypocrite.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Scorpio

Something that you've always taken for granted or believed implicitly could have a big question mark hanging over it during the next few weeks. The more entrenched your views are about this, the more difficult it will be to accept that perhaps it's time for a change of opinion or, at the very least, a revaluation of what you think. Mercury turns retro in your house of communications, so do your best to be open-minded now.
