Dear Concerned Citizen. Cass County is referred to as "Cash" county because of its corruption. Life magazine did an artical on Logansport's corruption back in the 50's. Back then, the corrupt cops, prosecutors, judges and councilmen profited from prostitution money...today it's drug money. Dealers who DON”T pay tribute to corrupt officials arrested all the time…but NOT the ones who DO pay tribute. Talk to any child in Logansport...even fourth and fifth graders...and they will likely know either someone who sells drugs or who buys drugs. Remember the Dave Long Deal? That's when Dave Long ran over a boy while driving drunk. He ran from the accudent and the boy died. Judge "phoney" Perrone gave Dave Long 1 year of probation...THAT'S ALL!!! It’s all about $$$ in corrupt Cash County. Since the Dave Long Deal, crimes against Cass..er Cash County children has skyrocketed.(e.g. rapes and bomb threats in our schools…murders of children…etc. are all higher since Maughmer and Phoney Perrone became judges and Enyeart became prosecutor!! There's a loophole in the law that allows prosecutors to pocket pre-trial diversion money...that's money that people pay when the prosecutor agrees to drop charges if you agree to pay him money. All other prosecutors in Indiana that I've contacted refuse to pocket this money that officially belongs to the public. When former prosecutor Ricky Maughmer was elected judge, he made Kevin Enyeart the prosecutor. At the time, Lisa Swaim and Michael Boonstra were deputy prosecutors. Lisa Swaim was Enyeart’s friend and he started allowing hear UNETHICALLY to pocket the public pre-trial monies she collected from prosecuting people. Thus, Enyeart created an incentive to prosecute EVERYONE…even those who are innocent! Michael Boonstra balked at this unethical practice committed by Kevin Enyeart and his friend Lisa Swaim. Then one day Deputy Prosecutor Boonstra came to work and Prosecutor Enyeart had taken the liberty to empty out his desk and place all of his personal belongings in a box!! THEN, Prosecutor Enyeart turned around and replaced Boonstra with…..Lisa Swaim’s HUSBAND!!! That’s right, a little unethical nepotism is a mere peccadillo to someone as steeped in unethical conduct as Prosecutor Kevin Enyeart. BUT, to fool the people of Logansport and Cass County, Lisa Swaim’s husband maintained a DIFFERENT last name. He is RANDY HEAD!! AND he’s the husband of Lisa Swaim…and both are good buds with Prosecutor Enyeart…and together they all unethically pocket money that belongs to the public! It’s no surprise then, that since that the Enyeart-Swaim-Head team has been engaged in their corrupt practice, the number of false arrests and prosecutions has skyrocketed! The Pharos-Tribune keeps reporting on the huge number of outstanding warrants in Cass…er…”Cash” County, but they refuse to report on the fact that the number of arrests and warrants PER CAPITA are 50% to 100% HIGHER THAN SURROUNDING COUNTIES. What a great money-making racket!! So you see; the corruption in Cash County extends throughout the government, law enforcement and judicial offices and departments.

you are the most ignorant person. How does someone pocket money when it all goes to the clerks office and Kevin has no way of evening touching it. Apparently you don't know Kevin or you have been on trial before. I know kevin very very well. He is one of the most honest people I have ever met. You just need to shut your mouth.

You are not very convincing, you sound more like a jelous angry teenager grasping at straws to hurt someone than anything else. WOW is correct that your argument doesnt stand up, how would he get the money without the clerks office knowing, and therefor us knowing? are they in on it too? Maybe they're cousins??? And I also agree Mr. Enyeart is a honest, upstanding citizen and our town should be proud of what he does for us.If our arrest and warrents per capita are so much higher than surrounding areas then good for us, it's not some devious conspiracy theory just good police work. If you really want to find corruption I dont think your looking in the right places, try Washington for instance or our mayors office lol. Hint, next time maybe try to not sound like have such a grudge against who you are writing about, you'll be more convincing.

I've had to deal with both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor in their positions as city officials on many occasions and have found them to be helpful, concerned and effective in all of my encounters. I've also been around them outside of their official duties, including at church, community events, school functions, scouting ceremonies, funerals and sporting events. They are good representatives of this city as well as good people, and deserve the support of the community. I have to assume the prosecutor and judge are also good people and are doing the best they can. Of course, if that isn't good enough then the voters should say so in the next election. For you to defend the prosecutor and in the same breath cast aspersions on the Mayor's office seems a bit hypocritical. I think it's just a matter of personal perception and I find it all a bit ugly. And no, I'm not a relative, just a regular citizen who happens to appreciate their efforts.

I agree with the original post...I am from Cass County Indiana and am very familiar with the corruption in the county. Unfortunately, Randy Head is a highly unethical attorney- he is representing an individual in both a criminal trial where she is the "victim" and a divorce hearing. He actually CAME BACK for the criminal trial in order to represent the victim after accepting her divorce case. Ethics seem to take a backseat whenever they want to "nail someone to the wall" so to speak. In addition to this, none of the public defenders are actually willing to put in time and effort to defend their clients there. Why? Well, it's because they all play musical jobs...one time public defenders can become prosecutors in a year or so and then wouldn't you know, end up on the judge's bench...seems they need to decide which side they are really on....
