Minot is far from being cheap for apartments anymore. You may get lucky but itn ow ranges from $750 plus to rent here. And there is only nation car insurance places here such as State Farm and Geiko.

Allstate is here too. There are several other local insurance companies.
Good luck on finding an apartment. The base just added another squadron along with a ton of people inbound. There is a shortage of houses on base due to construction.

My only suggestion. DONT move to Minot. You will instantly regret it. The city has no idea what they are doing. They was money on useless projects, turn down viable businesses and will tax the living daylights out of you. Minot is all take and NO give. It has gotten worse with the oil in the area. They see dollar signs in the city government. City engineers, planners, mayor and council are all over paid idiots. Classic case of over promise, underdeliver. Save your money. Stay away!

My family moved to minot 1 yr ago today and it is buetiful we love it, but we are use to oilfield jobs paying for the work performed and we have went from 90.000 a year to 47.000 a year here. Oilfield here as far as truckdriving does not match even close to the cost of living? basic rent is 1200.00 a month. My huband has lots of experince in oilfield, managing yards, to running every type of machinery. love minot but alot of oilfield companys are in lesrning fases here . snd alot of them hire outsiders and bring them in to minot not good for people here who have experience. If you are not oilfield and have a lot of college you might be lucky. love evrything about minot except pay does not match close to living expences? more for elderly and college and military.

I wasnt "run" out of town or even turned down on a business. I lived there for 8 miserable years and observed the moronic Minot city managment at every turn. I would suggest you attend some city council meetings and observe for yourself. The idiocracy displayed by EVERYONE in city government is astounding. Is the "champagne" government sign still by the bus depot?
I also suggest you take a moment and frame an intelligent response befor you reply with any further "witty" retorts. You my friend are part of the problem. How do you justify a "bark park" or a walking bridge over broadway to connect the hotel to an airport that is at least 2000 yards away from said bridge? I challenge you to justify either of them and I'll give you two more to explain after that.
Everyone in any position whatsoever in this miserable town is way too eager to take money from it's citizens to fund useless projects, city coffers and inflated salaries. While virtually no tax money is used in public schools or worthwhile endeavors.
At least I had the good sense to leave. What's that say about you, LOSER... Keep writing those checks that everyone is soo eager to take. If it was not for oil or the base your town would be nothing.

"If it was not for oil or the base your town would be nothing."

Minot was here long before oil or the base was here and it will survive without those two entities long afterwards.

Everywhere you go there is something bad about some place.
