Someone at the Courant needs to check their facts. The tavern was at one time owned by Elton - and it was painted brown. Hence, the Brown Elton Tavern.

Okay...but it's pink now...Perhaps someone needs to take a drive through Burlington.

The historical group had taken great pain to establish the original color by paint chip analysis. The color you now see is what you saw when it was first painted.
