THis just proves my point that please don't anyone believe the company is loyal to the workers or has integrity. They are just words in the dictionary. It's all about the cheapest labor, least amount of benefits, and what the company's bottom line shows. The companies today don't give a rats' tutu about the worker.....just how much they can keep cutting corners, the least amount of workers to do the jobs, etc., etc., etc. I have never bought Tyson chicken because of the bad press and the chicken looked lousy. They are probably not getting enough kickbacks, etc. from Ponca City to entice them to stay.

I can't help believing that Tyson foods could be enticed to stay in Olahoma, saving over 550 jobs. I think that if the current state government adninistration would offer them some kind of support. From what I have seen and heard is that from the current State attorney general. And he has given then nothing but trouble. He has chosen to fight the Oklahoma agricultural economy. He alone has probably cost Oklahoma more jobs, and more money with lawsuits against one of oklahoma's major industries and Oklahomas neighbors than anyone else in history. Of course I have no hard evidence of this, but I would bet on it. I have heard him say he is running for governor of Oklahoma. I believe this would finish oklahoma off, At the present time you don't see any large employers knocking down our doors to open plants that would bring job's to Oklahoma. But back to the point, why son't we offer Tyson some sort of incentives to stay in oklahoma and maybe even look at our state as being worthy of their investment in us , instead of some other state getting our jobs, which is exactly what is happening in this case. Let the Public of oklahoma say to Tyson Please stay and to consider us for any more plants you might need some day. And at the same time say to Drew Edmonson to go home and get out of politics. Afterall you have never done anything to help us, but rather, from my ppoint of view has only hurt us.

Much of the stuff out there is from Tyson! They don't have sanitary conditions in some of their plants and the people in charge are just concerned about screwing people out of money IMO.

Do we really need/want a company that doesn't care enough about its workers to find a buyer before they let the employees go? Tyson doesn't care. They have a crappy motto that says Tyson CARES, but they don't! They'd rather poison our water sources and kill off all their future customers just to make a buck now. Some of their employees are wonderful hard-working people, but when the brains of the company is so worried about their ownselves and not the customers then we have a company like this! Tyson always has layoffs and then their stock goes up. It is all a numbers juggling game for them and maybe one of these days when people quit buying into it Tyson will be forced to stop this stupidity. I say the employees at the Ponca City Plant should find a buyer themselves and maybe they'll be fortunate to find a company that really does care about them, quality, customers, and the environment! IMHO

Tyson is one of THE WORST of the big ag businesses. Their treatment of animals is less than humane. Their food and plants are filty. They don't care about humans, employees, period. They care about the bottom line...their pocket books. They are part of the big ag movement to implement and enforce NAIS (National Animal Identification System)--means EVERY SINGLE chicken, goat, cow, horse, rabbit, llama, emu, turkey, and duck in the entire US will have to have a micro chip in it and all movements reported to Big Brother. Yes, folks this is real. USDA is in big ag's pocket and forcing this right on thru, and Congress is funding it thru the Farm Bill. Big ag doesn't want anyone to own livestock or feed themselves. They want every dime of your food dollar. WAKE UP. Drew Edmondson is right to fight, sue and drive these greedy folks out of our state.

That is one of the most logistically ridiculous ideas I've ever heard.

the ceo lives and works in a capitolist society, kinda like you. He works for people who own stock in the company, like maybe you. It's his job to make the stockholders money. If he doesn't he loses his job. Why am I telling this to an idiot who doesn't understand capitolism, who knows? My guess is you don't have what it takes to jump in and create jobs yourself. So close your pie hole and shut the door of your rusty trailer.

I live in ponca and work at the plant! This bites bad. I dont know how we are to find a job when there is well over 580 employees let go, this number does not ever account for drivers that will not be needed, the security officers that base out of there, nor many other factors. Ponca is going to become a ghost town.

I don't know who you are and I don't really need to know, but I'll verify the validity of what you've just said. People in this country better WAKE UP as you put it! They have so many people that hate their company that they have to devise other ways to market their food that doesn't include their name so that they can sucker people into buying it. Buyer beware.

People would be disgusted by the truth about the cleanliness of their plants. If the buyer doesn't mind roaches and feces then I guess they'll keep buying. Oh yeah, forgot, they don't tell the consumer about those things.

He has to layoff folks so that the others that buy stock will believe now is the time to buy and the stocks will go up. It is a pattern for the company and the closing of the Oklahoma plant is because they can't pressure our Attorney General into the good old boy system where he will just let all this pollution slide and kill off our water sources and us! Tyson should be prosecuted for attempted manslaughter IMO.
