There is a lot of racial profiling in the City of Burbank. I can recall an incident where I had called the Burbank police to my place of business and when they arrived they pulled their guns on me instead of the perpetrator because the color of my skin they automatically assumed I was who they were being called out on. I can remember placing a complaint with their dispatcher. Which at that time he placed the courtesy we are sorry for the incident, we strive to maintain the upmost integrity. It is all a crock. They need to be investigated, as well as, Glendale though they may be a bit better now, they have have had issues as well.

This is a sad day for the Burbank Police Department. This department was already torn apart with anger and distrust, now this suicide will devastate the department more. This department needs strong leadership and it does not have it. From the Chief down to all of the "upper" brass, this department is weak. Some of the Captians think of nothing but their own selves. So many good officers being tainted by so few thugs. It is so sad that Gunn had to do this and now the department will be divided even more. One must ask why he chose to do this in public instead of in the privacy of his home. What statement was he making? Is there more to this suicide than just the current FBI probe? What, if any problems were going on in his private life? I'm sure some of the people in this FBI probe will blame others on the department for what Gunn did but they should take a few steps backward and really take an objective look at the whole situation. If they all weren't thugs who felt they were above the law maybe Gunn wouldn't have taken this final act.

I grew up in Burbank and this is very tragic. But I am quite suspicious when any high profile person is said to have committed suicide.

An officer once drew on me, but I'm not crying about it.
Until the officer has control of a situation,
he/she does what they have to do.
Be glad the cops didn't pull the trigger.
I am.
Why always playing the victim/race card?
As I said, next time call a gangbanger: He WILL pull the trigger, fool.
Why always playing the victim/race card? Only someone who has never suffered discrimination would make a comment like that. We don't just make this stuff up! The same officer that greets you with a smile and wave bullies and harasses minorities. So since you've obviously never encountered this, shut the f*&K up when people who know what they're talking about express outrage!

Please, let's concentrate on what happened to the police officer.

It happened on a public street, so his body should be cited for littering.

...My god! Have we forgotten that "police officers" are people too? There is a FAMILY right now who's life has been chattered by this. I'm sure that there is a lot going on at BPD but who are we to make comments that are negative. My heart goes out to his family. R.I.P Sgt Gunn.

And just how many incidents did you actually see? And out of those that you saw (from the very beginning) how many did you know why the stop was being made? My guess.....Those that you possibly saw you had no idea of the facts of the stop and are just filling in the blanks with suppositions, guesswork. In all likelihood you merely saw somebody getting a ticket or a scare card written up and you didnt like it.

If you have never been in that dark, dark place of depression you should count your blessings!! I know nothing about Sgt. Gunn or an investigation however, I do know about depression.
Rarely do we know what's really going on in someone's personal/professional life. Sometimes all it takes is just one more thing to push a depressed person to suicide.
We will never know what it was like to 'walk in his shoes'...
My sincerest condolences to Sgt. Gunn's family, friends and law enforcement commmunity for your loss.

People who have never been police officers ususally complain the most. They also yell at the Tv when their boxer goes down, pitcher gives up a home run, or football player gets hurt. They have never and will never do anything close to the things they see and or think they know because they lack talent, guts, or fail to meet the higher standards needed for the job. Complain all you want I don't see you putting on a vest and gun and kissing your kids goodbye. Bitch one!

The energy you put out will always come back to get you, It's hard for me to feel for this person because I think suicide is a coward's way out of things. Not to mention, he was being investigated for civil rights violations. He was also a Ministerial Officer of the Year? LMAO. Great example of a GOD fearing person and a wolf in sheep's clothing. As a minister, he should know suicide is a straight shot to Hell. It doesn't surprise me the FBI is probing the Burbank Police Dept. They're are the most racist and unruly bunch of law enforcement officers I have run into since I've lived in L.A. County the last ten years. They give law-abiding citizens a hard time just for visiting.
Well, all I can say is I hope the FBI cleans house.

I'm sure there are some good officers on that force, but they won't go against the majority which is the problem with that police department. Good officers are tarnished and diminished in a lot of places. The standards they use for hiring have gone down the toilet. Screw him. That's what he gets.
