So are you sayin' you want open borders, partner?
Well. I don't think that we could realistically close them off completely.
Unless we would be willing to accept the consequences.
We'd be the hermit nation -- paranoid, shutting ourselves in behind closed doors, and quarantining ourselves.
Plus, unless we wanted to be labeled as a HYPOCRITE country, we'd have to stop interfering in the affairs of other countries.
And that's a habit I'm not sure the politicians are willing to kick.
And if the country would've had the attitude of no open borders during the 1700s, 1800s, and 1900s, then America would look completely different than it does right now.
For we are a nation of various peoples, colors, and ethnicities.
We are a melting pot.
The same party, the Republican Party, that campaigns on closed borders between the United States and Mexico is also the same party that wants international business through exports and imports, the same party that internationally outsourced OUR jobs, and is the same party that relentlessly engages in international warfare.
And why JUST Mexico?
Why do they ONLY want to shut out the Mexicans?
Why NOT Canada too?
That seems very telling.
Racism?
Prejudice?
They say all the Mexicans want to vote Democrat.
I guess if they felt that they wanted to vote Republican, there would be a push to build a great highway between the 2 countries.
Behind closed doors, the politicians are supposedly laying out the groundwork to map the United States, Canada, and Mexico into one united country.
And who knows?
That might turn out to be a good thing.
And we have no other choice but to sit back like sheep and watch it all happen as we get the wool pulled over eyes when our government MAKES decisions for US.
I can't SEE Americans rising up and revolting, like they did in the Revolutionary War, over the border issue.
And the Declaration of Independece does state that sometimes it is necessary for a people to rise up and forcefully change the government.
Of course, the illegal immigrants coming here only to take advantage of the system and ruin it for everyone else MUST be dealt with.
Texas Joe, they should be rounded up and headed off at the pass, so to speak.
And branded with a big "NO".
But there are foreigners who are legitimately still coming to our great country to seek a better life and those people should be more than willing to sign-up and be a citizen so that they can be truly proud to be an American.
But the registration process shouldn't be so difficult that even a natural born citizen couldn't pass it.
And how could we ever forget or get her image out of our mind as a people? That beautiful lady. The Statue Of Liberty that stands at freedom's door right at the edge of the United States with the following sweet talk:
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
And she isn't just whispering sweet nothings there.
That is an earful.
And we should be paying attention.
And not let it just go in one ear and out the other.
And if it's a Republican President.
Or if it's a Democrat President.
Or if it's an Independent President.
WHOEVER is the one that truly cares about his country and wants to help the people, that is the ONE for ME.
But like I said before.
No ONE president is going to fix this mess.
It's too far gone.
They MUST come together.
All the Parties.
For the good of the people.
All for one and one for all.
Then after it's fixed they can go back to who can spit the farthest.
Come together right now over lady liberty.
There is no OTHER way to DO IT.
We ... can ... do ... it!!!!!
Get 'er done.
God Bless America ... again.
