I believe that the pride exhibited on I70 signs by the city of Russell and Russell County that acknowledge Senator Specter's local roots is not justified. His name should be removed. He does not represent Kansas in any way, has a long history of self-centered conduct in the Senate and now has deserted the party that strongly defended him in his last election.

No ONE set of views represents a state. Republican and Democrat are a thing of the past. Individuals should form their own set of views and opinions, and not allow bi-partisan thinking to define a state or individual. Its ludicrous. You support a man for years and years, and now disown him for leaving a party so right (conservative), yet so wrong. Senator Specter is leading by example, and that example is moderation. Not left wing or right wing, not democrat or republican, not liberal or conservatism, but expression and representation of realistic views.

He changed to Democrat and was one of three Democrats to vote against Obama's budget!!

We could all be so lucky for the rest of Congress to follow. Example: For democrats to not just vote democrat and republicans to not just vote republican, but for Congressman to vote based on their beliefs and characteristics that we as voters delegate them.

How long does it take for most people to realize that one screw up or a change, wipes all of the at-a-boys you have ever accumulated. Hand those the key's lets see how they do other than bitch.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
