i hear that the party is on for tonite. lets see if these will get caught this time, or should i say get in trouble. 2 games suspension apparently wasnt enough to get their attention. i guess that the punishment you get depends on how much money your parents have, or if you are the heart of the team. you know the school has an image to keep up.

For those of you that dont know these kids...They are all good kids. Hall county arrested over 30 of them, why they say 14 or 16 I dont understand. Out of the 60+ kids at this party, there were none of them that had drugs on them. Some had a beer, and were still arrested. My son being one of them. I was at the jail. I bonded my son out. He is an honor roll student a great kid, never even been in trouble at school. He drank a beer. Was at the party 20 min. before Hall Co. arrived. If you lived in Hall County you would understand how the police are here.

You people dont know the truth. 30+ kids were arrested. Over 60 at the party, there were NO drugs on any of them!!Some were arrested for drinking a sip of beer. Hall Co. is a desperate police force. They will arrest anyone, even if they are innocent. Just like they say they only arrested 14 or 16 kids. I was there at the jail, my sister works at the jail, I know for a fact they arrested 32 kids! Some for blowing a .oo1???? These are good kids, athletes, honor roll students. If you dont live in Hall Co. you will never see what we see. They are only trying rto pay for their new jail.

I don't agree with the law as it is written, however I have to take exception with the remark that Hall County Police are desperate. There were 14 kids arrested at the party, thats it. Thats the truth. There were no others arrested at that party that night other than those. More were arrested that night during other incidents and during traffic stops. 7 for DUI. But don't let facts get in your way.
If your sister works in the jail, she should know the jail is already paid for and came in under budget. So no one has to arrest your kid to pay for the jail. In fact the money left over is paying to expand the jail. The only money the jail makes is from boarding inmates from other counties, so in fact, it harms the jails money making ability if the local police fill it up. The more beds Hall County inmates take up, the less money they make.
And the reason the kids were arrested might have something to do with the fact there were 9 complaints called in about the party from neighbors in less than a hour.
As a parent I understand your dedication to your child, however, you admit he broke a law, and your upset he was caught. A lot of parents in Hall County seem to have this misconception that the laws do not apply to their kids. And as long as parents condone lawless behavior they have no right to complain when tragedy strikes. Remember 3 years ago when 11 Hall County High School students died in traffic accidents. No one cried the police were to tough then, they cried that more enforcement was needed. It seems the only people not crying about the arrest are the kids. They all are taking the punishment and moving on, the parents seem to be the ones who have the childish complaints.

your morals and my morals and everyone's morals are subject to self perspective. your morals lead you to believe that the parents are morally wrong, I believe that they were not.
Each of the children were between 17-19 years old, each old enough to go to jail as an adult, however not old enough to make adult decisions.
Is it moral to hold a person to a standard in one aspect, but not the same standard in another aspect.
I guess we can throw out all laws that you don't like.

Considering most of the people fled the house, the full extent of the drinking isn't realized. Having knowledge of those who attended this, I can say that the people caught were in the minority. I would have been extremely pleased if the names of the 16 year olds were able to be released, or most of the people were caught. Even so, most of the people that were caught have still attended functions just like it. It isn't going to stop them. It is really a shame, ignorance and stupidity such as this shouldn't be tolerated by parents.

I think the parents who are complaining here need to learn from their kids it apears they are more mature about all of this rather than the parents.

Living in Flowery Branch, I understand how the police are. And as a student, I know the truth and the stories far more than you will give me credit for. But for you, "mother", to say there were no drugs at this party is outright inane. Your son, the proposed honor roll student, obviously was making the wrong choices. The point is, if you are underage and you drink, even one beer, it is illegal. Period. The fact that, as a parent, you show no feelings towards the bad choices your son made bothers me more than the actual arrests.

I agree with henhouse to an extent. A parent trying to justify their son's drinking is incredible. You are a role model.

Again, it seems the young people of our county are more responsible and mature than the parents who are supposed to be setting the example. Good for them, it gives me hope that we are on the right track with our future.

I used to go to flowery branch high school and knew some of those kids. My good friend lives in that neighborhood. Let me tell you that the parents may not have bought it, but it might have been very possible. The parents knew and it was a full blown party...at least 20 cars or so outside. Parties like that go on all the time in FB...this one just got caught.

And this is exactly why "you" shouldn't drink. Immature attitudes and ideals seldom lead to responsible choices.
