Again, the consumer is on the outside looking in. We already pay for channels we don't need/watch. now we no longer have a basic channel which we expect. And, we have nothing to say about it. I'm totally disgusted with the whole mess!

SMOKEY - You are so right - years ago Adelphia allowed us to pick channels we wanted and pay for them individually - now we have to take an expensive package that contains more channels that are never watched. I intend to cancel my package with TW and go back to basic with them - even that is not good since they offer only some of our loacal channels. WIVB-TV has lost my respect, but so has TIME WARNER - it is, as you said - so disgusting. I also see that Ch. 4 has elected to take off all the posts that were once on, my last one was eliminated. why does that not surprise me !!!

I am totally disgusted with Time Warner and Channel 4. How much money will channel 4 lose before they realizes that we as consumers have moved on to different places for our local coverage. Time Warner equally disgusts me because they were not able to reach an agreement with WIVB.

That's your privilege and I wish you well. I'm not missing it at all and will be quite happy if it never comes back.

WIVB MIS-Information Minister Christopher A. Musial was spotted taking notes from Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf.

NOTE: Link to this blog has been removed from WIVB's home page in an attempt to censor the community in wich it serves.

Well it's partly our faults too, we didn't pay attention to the banners warning us it was coming.

Then again those stupid banners usually mean nothing (unless it's real news).

We were warned we didn't respond because we didn't believe it.

The banner said "WOLF" too many times, it lost it's meaning.

HEY here's a bright idear... how about next time we get paper mail.. from Time Warner letting us know we have to make a choice.

I don't know how anyone thinks banners work anyway, everyone has ADD nowadays:P

A hysterical (doomsday kinda girl) told me this was going to happen sometime last week. I laughed her off and said CBS would NEVER let itself be taken off the air..

Well color me informed

As much as they might try, they can't totally silence us. Other places on the web are offering news coverage about this situation, and some places on the web are offering editorials about this situation.

As I've posted elsewhere, Alan Pergament has written a more balance article in today's Buffalo News. If you read it, you'll find out TW bears quite a bit of responsibility for this fiasco, as WELL as LIN.

Good luck, a rep from DISH was on the news the other nite saying there's a waiting list for installation. This whole mess will probably be resolved before you get switched over!

Does Time Warner really think I am going to believe they are looking out for my interests. Lets look at the facts. If Time Warner passes the cost on to us it would be less than a penny per day. When was the last time the greedy a holes at Time Warner cared about your bill going up, especially if it is less than 30 cents per month, they are spending way more than that on the rabbit ears which to me is a horrible solution. Is this 1968?? Second, didn't Time Warner play this same game with FOX last year except they were granted an extension and worked out a deal. Third, they say why pay when these channels are free, and we are not making money off them. Call Time Warner and ask about their FREE local channel package, it does not exsist, they are making money off these channels, so why shouldn't some of that money be passed on??
I am tired of being a pawn in this media giants game, unfortunately Verizon has not got off their a**es and put Fios in my neighborhood yet so I have signed a 2 year agreement with DirecTv. Unfortunately they are busy, can't iamgine why, and it will not be installed until NOV 3. When I called TW to cancel they had a speech prepared and I listened for a good laugh, they were already trying to get me back when a deal is reached, when telling me I would have to pay $50 for a service call from DirecTv they had no answer to well I am saving over $60 month off your price so that is no big deal. I dread that I still need Slow Runner, I mean Road runner until I can finally have Fios

Try for 20. Customer service reps have the ability to give you 20 bucks off without manager approval, and that's what i got. Sure they will tell you they don't charge you for CBS (which is a crock) but just argue back that in your mind your 100 dollars includes the basic channels. Heck they charge me for channels I have no interest in, so as far as I am concerned I'm paying for CBS.

As far as DTW, umm that's what they told me as well... 3 weeks ago.

Daily Horoscope for February 13

Sagittarius

It's time to muster all your resources and energies and push through to the next level. The harmony between Mars and Saturn will support your efforts. If you need to dig deeper into shared resources or your credit facilities, now's the time to do so. With careful planning and perhaps family support, you can consolidate and somehow find greater security. This is a calculation not a risk though.
