Why did the judge and the DA try and cover this up saying that nothing happened on the bus, when in fact, the perps are so dumb, they are all over the news saying how they punched kids and gave charlie horses to kids. Wonder if the school is going to be on their side after this? The school is trying to cover their tracks and the perps have now blown it for them. The truth is now coming out, the school needs to be prepared for egg on their face, the judge is already wiping his face.

Gina-
Mutual horseplay and felony sexual abuse are two very different things and the school has already publically stated they are supporting the exonoreted students and coaches. Listen to the taped conversation on WBEN from this morning. Deal with it! |

No. Mr. O'Brien is a very good attorney.

1 "My prayer is that the real story will emerge so there will be accountability." It appears that the initial account given to the authorities was an exaggeration of what really did occur on the bus. Now what I would like to know, and I think this has legal ramifications, did a parent or parents of the complainant(s) coach their child to exaggerate what happened in the hopes of winning a lawsuit.. People like this are out there.. We have all read about them numerous times.. Desperate parents who put money over the welfare of their child.. The developments of the last few days reminds me somewhat of that Pepsi Center Hockey episode a few years back.. |

He really has the cohones to show his mug on TV? What a complete joke that guy is! So the kids went to counseling, was it because of the bus ride or because their own parents forced them to stick to a story that was not true? At least a third of the people that I know are in counseling. Where do they go to sign up for a lawsuit?

Can't believe the concerned parents are represented by a guy who has buried two businesses into bankruptcy. Double D and her cronies are behind a man without ethics and morals. Maybe that is the reason he is able to speak out.

The concerned parents group is five people. Yes - five people. Split 5 ways they could repay the town of Wilson $40Grand each to make up the $200Grand spent on their idiocy.

You don't have anything to worry about, my pretty little Kate, if you haven't slandered, defamed or lied about anyone on this blog. If the shoe fits, however, you'll be wearing it soon enough. As for my connection: I think the children of this town and school have suffered far too long at the hands of a motivated few who are too blinded by their own anger to be rational anymore. You have made a choice for your advocacy, and I'm making a choice for mine. |

1 I want money · 2 days ago To my knowledge, only one suit (directly related to the bus incident) has formally been served so far against the Wilson Central School District, and it isn't by attorney Terry Connors. Why is no one inquiring about damages being sought in this suit? Furthermore, the parents serving this suit are stating 'mental anguish' and their son admittedly was never physically touched. Couldn't the whole community of Wilson sue under those terms? This lawsuit is a classic example of projection - a quick look into the past would reveal why this man doesn't deserve any money. What he DID deserve, he never got - jail time. Backtracking · 2 days ago A popular comment that has been repeated lately is "well, something happened on the back of that bus." At what point does credibility go out the window? If I caught a 5 year old in a lie, I don't let him back out of it until he arrives at the truth, and then commend him for it. These 'concerned parents' told us that felony sexual assault happened on that bus in April 2008. FALSE, and verified by a reduction in charges. They then took a few steps back and basically said even if felony sexual assault didn't happen, misdemeanor forcible touching and hazing happened. FALSE, and verified in February when the judge rules there is not enough physical evidence to pursue first degree hazing charges. THEN, they took a few more steps back and said that even if felony sexual abuse didn't happen, and 1st degree hazing didn't happen, SOMETHING happened. Why are the claims of these people still being viewed as credible? They have done nothing but backtrack repeatedly over the past 15 months, and change their story to fit every time they ran into a stumbling block that didn't verify their claims, and the media does not seem interested in holding them accountable. During yesterday's press conference, reporters still were badgering the coaches spokesperson Mike Paul, and maintaining their interest in the ONE family that is holding out hope in a civil suit, even though he supplied them with CREDIBLE new information. Credibility doesn't waver - it's either there, or it isn't. What will it take to convince the public at large, AND THE MEDIA, that the ones who don't deserve our belief and support are the ones whose stories have continued to adapt and change? Why are you allowing these people to weasel their way out of their original accusations time and time again, and still believe in them? My guess is that we always want to believe a child - but the depositions themselves reveal that these alleged victims BEGGED their parents not to call the police. These children knew that they were NOT the victims of any criminal activity, and knew their parents were over-reacting, but the parents pushed ahead anyway. They made their own children the subjects of a national expose on ESPN, forced them to subject to probing medical exams (which don't document ANY signs of physical abuse) and made this situation the focal point of their lives for 15 months. Even the simplest of individuals can understand the concept of truth, and the stories that these parents have continually spun to fit the emerging facts are NOT the truth. The coaches maintained from day one that nothing criminal happened on that bus, and haven't wavered. So who deserves the credibility here? |

Ms. Merrill,
With all due respect, is this IT? Your initial story, A Town Torn Apart, made Wilson out to be a small, hick town where adults regularly condone the time-honored traditions of hazing and cruelty towards our children. You created a story, published it on a national platform, and condemned an entire school (made up of 1400 students) and community. Your story was premature and incredibly lopsided, and left Wilson stigmatized, scrutinized and wounded. In the year since your reporting, there have been multiple significant developments, resulting in charges being dropped, reduced and dismissed. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that a case beginning with sexual felony assault charges and ending with misdemeanor hazing charges (followed by not guilty verdicts) doesn't add up with your original perspective. The icing on the cake is the double standard that ESPN soon adopted. Three months after crucifying Wilson for ALLEGEDLY condoning hazing, ESPN ran the attached commercial, which shows rookie Kevin Love being hazed by his NBA teammates, forced to ride in the luggage compartment under the team bus. Let's get this straight: hazing did not happen in Wilson. What you depict in your commercial, by your own standards, is inexcusable when it occurs in rural towns, yet funny and marketable when produced by your network. Your hypocrisy is unforgivable, and your rush to judge the students, players and coaches of Wilson is too. http://www.youtube.com/watch... |

This has never been about money, it's been about accountability. As for the backtracking two days ago, parents don't determine charges - law enforcement does. Obviously, something did happen on that bus - go to WGRZ.com and listen to the perp admit that there was things going on in the back of the bus. |

Peter Vito is married to one of the ADA's in the District Attorney's office. How is that for a conflict of interest? |
||||
Peter Viot is married to an ADA in the District Attorney's office. It is a hugh conflict of interest. But, then again so is Berger presiding over the case since he is friends with the coached and used to work at the school. It has been ciroupt from day 1 - those victims never had a chance. |

Oops - sorry about all the mis-spellings in the above post.

Please explain how this makes any of the facts change. These parents wanted to play the game of going to the big guns (State Police), they did a 15 month exhaustive investigation and the accused are found not guilty. It was the parent's game to play, they lost, and now they should shut up and go away! |
||||
|
I thought Berger was a a retired state trooper? wouldnt that count as conflict? Yet he still was able to make the right decision.
What's your point? |
