I am wondering if the Border Patrol has made any pickups lately. Because over in Safford the Border Patrol just picked up a load of Chinese UDE's. That was the fourth group of Chinese nationals in a month. I am thankful we have a law in NM against human trafickking because Chinese are going for $40K per head and in these times, it is too sorry a temptation for those who consort with the Devil. By the way. eacourier.com for the latest article on the UDE's.

I like how the police blotter reports attempted break in at Ridgewood Motors when in fact there was a break in. There were a very large number of tools and equipment taken at that time. some of the mechanics at Ridgwood Motors have suffered a total loss of all there personal tools. With out tools they are unable to work. So unfortunately for them they have job and no means to do it. I wish more of these robberies would be reported in the press so mabey the criminals could be caught. If people new a break ins and robberies had occured they could report what they saw they may have seen something and dont even know it might be important.

i wonder if anyone knows where to get the statistics in silver city for the number of robberies from homes or businesses per year and how many criminals are actually caught. asking around it seems nearly none are ever caught and the ones that are are seldom ever prosecuted.i wanted to know if this is just the outlook people have or if its tne reality of things here in silver city

Personally I have never found any stats on this subject but being a life long resident I have never met a person that had there stuff recovered or heard of a person going to jail for stealing or breaking in to houses or businesses. I can see not reporting in the news paper but you should at least have met a person that has got there stuff back or hasheard of a person going to jail for something like this

i have lived here for most of my life i have had my house broken into and most everything stolen once and my place of work broken into and robbed twice. neither time did the police seem to care or make any attempt to catch who ever did it. the police did not even question the neihbors let alone attempt to check for fingerprints or any other evidence if they dont at least try then criminals will never care with no chance of being caught

If the police actually did there jobs and cut back the crime here then they might get laid off like most other people here in silver city. it is in there best interest to not upset the criminals or attempt to catch them. the sad part is if a cop gets lucky and trips over a criminal he has no authority to prosecute them. he can only arrest them and make a report then the DA tells them we dont have room in jail so stop being bad. now go home and think about what you have done. a pat on the wrist till next time and next time and next time there is crime but no punishment in silver city

What kind of uneducated reporter put this article together. Hopefully it was something simply copied from some handwritten blotter up in Silver. Truly a testament to the lack of education up in the hill country.
