I prefer to buy used cars from Parker Ford. I've gotten great deals on trustworthy ones.

You can get good deals there, thats a fact. BUT, I would be a little skeptical of what they DO sell there. The same vehicles with comparible milleage cost almost twice as much as other dealers sell them for. I'm not sure if this is the case, but its a good indicator that they may be selling vehicles that have been totaled by insurance companies and sold to them on a salvage title. Vehicles that have been involved in floods, fires, and serious accidents. Like I said, I dont know this because Ive never bought anything there, but it would make me wonder why they are selling cars that are half the price of other car lots.

That was supposed to be that they cost twice as much ON other car lots, not costs twice as much AS other car lots. Sorry.

Phil, most of the cars at 5 points have been in accidents and repaired. They are very honest about it and will show you the before pictures of the vehicles.
I've never bought a car there, but if I needed cheap transportation, I would consider it.

You cannot be serious about purchasing a car from there...I have gone there to look at a few vehicles that they had on their lot; I would not recommend them to anyone. Its obvious that the cars are salvage and were purchased from auction, sure no problem with that, but the way that they carry out repairs is shoddy and dangerous.

Example, I looked at a Ford Ranger that was for sale on the lot. It looked good on the outside, except for the hood, it was misaligned when they carried out the repair. I take it down Chestnut for a test drive. The truck made a terrible metal against metal noise coming from the front end. I stopped and looked underneath it and the frond differential was glowing red hot (correct me if I am wrong, but that is not supposed to happen), especially with 4x4 disengaged. I took it back, and they said that it was a brake noise and it would settle over time...things on vehicles do not settle over time and it was not coming from the brakes, a major mechanical part on the vehicle is failing and they wanted to blow it off.

Another example comes from someone I know that works at an auto parts store in Murray. They were doing their repairs and needed a serpentine belt on a vehicle and they did not have the correct size in stock. They told the store they needed the part ASAP and asked if they had a belt that was an inch longer than factory specs and they'll take that...that is just asking for all kinds of trouble, that belt would fail within the first week from the friction.

Now wanting to do business with them was my mistake. I knew better than to invest in a salvage or repaired vehicle, but the costs seemed too good to pass up. Point in case, if you can afford it, don't buy salvage or repaired. You can buy a really nice used vehicle that has been well taken care of for their prices. You do not know what kinds of snake oil has been put inside the engine and what types of sub-par workmanship has been placed into repair.

If you're looking for a good used vehicle, I would use Oakley. The man that owns the place is really nice and although he has a fetish for Jeeps, you can't beat his deals.

I have even heard that they do OD rollbacks there too.

There are several good used car lots in Benton. We looked everywhere from Paris to Paducah for used cars. You just have to get out there and look at all your options. Depending on your own needs, get a Carfax history report on that vin #.

LOL...ok, I will break it down for you...just this once. That last comment I made had NOTHING to do with the car you purchased or 5 Star for that matter, it was in reference to your "3000 grand" remark...

When you place "grand" behind a number, you are multiplying by 1000, OK...so by saying "3000 grand" you are saying 3000 X 1000, which equates to 3,000,000...

I know you meant "3 grand", but you're so fun to pick at its almost irresistible.

I really don't care about what car or whatever else you bought there.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Pisces

You should have a lucky break today when fate steps in and takes a hand. For instance, a situation may seem to be heading for disaster when you're suddenly bailed out in ways you would never have imagined. However, this doesn't mean you can take foolish risks in the hope that things will work out all right because there's no guaranteeing that they'll do so automatically.
