Donations to fund burial of boy who collapsed at school

“It's still very sad, but we're trying to keep everything as normal as possible”

LANCASTER -- A Garrard County school is raising money for the burial of a kindergartner who collapsed in the lunchroom Monday and later died in Lexington.

Camp Dick Robinson Elementary School seeks donations to help the with burial of 5-year-old Jordan Aguilar. After the boy collapsed, a school employee took him to a nurse's station to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and then an ambulance took the boy to the Danville hospital, according to a school letter sent to parents. The boy was later airlifted to University of Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington but died there. Read more

What happened to this child? What is the cause of death? What did they do for the other children at the school? Did they provide counseling? If I know Garrard County they did not, just swept it away. I surely hope I am wrong. If anyone has information on this story please advise.

Jordan has a birth defect that caused the blood vessels in his brain to rupture (aneurism?). He collapsed in the cafeteria. The staff performed CPR on him and he was taken to Ephraim McDowell and later airlifted to Lexington where he later died. The school was very supportive to the students. I know because my daughter is in Jordan's class. The counselor talked with the students. Parents were called to help those students who were having a particularly difficult time, like my daughter. The school still continues to talk about Jordan, plant trees for him and recognize his life. It is a terrible loss for all of us. Jordan was a wonderful little boy and our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

S. Wells....Thank you for your post. I'm glad to hear the Garrard County Schools are doing the right thing with this. I get tired of all the ignorant people who post negative things about Garrard County on here who don't know what they are talking about. Kingpin 101 spouts off all the time about how bad Garrard County is, but never will admit when they do something right. So, how about it Kingpin? How about saying you were wrong? How about posting something positive about your community for once, instead of throwing off all the time? How about having a little dignity about yourself and not using the death of a young boy to promote your negative message!
I'll tell you what the problem is in Garrard County - it is intellectually lazy people like yourself who automatically spout off negative assumptions about things and spread around their poison without knowing the facts!
