I know Lt. Murray will do an excellent job as chief. Surely he’ll remember that he and his officers are there to serve and protect the citizens.

If Murray doesn’t want to continue on as chief, I say the Board of Selectmen should appoint Crumpton.

Lt. Murray, Sgt. Crumpton, Officer McDonald, Officer Callahan, and Officer Wilson seem to be the best police officers working for the Town of Ayer. I can’t recall any complaints made against them when I circulated a petition to end alleged Ayer Police misconduct, and heard/notarized over 60+ complaints regarding the department a few years ago.(Complaints were submitted to the U.S. DOJ on behalf of the town residents).

Ever since Chief Rizzo and the Board of Selectmen did the smart thing in removing two “bad apples”, McSweeney and Newbould, the Ayer Police Department has been doing a remarkable job! I no longer hear complaints. They’re building an excellent reputation and should be proud to serve for the Town of Ayer/Commonwealth.

Finally, I wish Rizzo well in his new job. He was a good chief in Ayer. The only problem I saw with him is that he took the word of the two “bad apples” to heart and it seemed as though he dismissed all others. But now, I’m sure he sees the truth. Other then that, he was a good guy! Good luck Rizzo!

Congratulation Lt. Murray!

Sincerely,
Korey Humphreys

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Libra

Remember that life isn't all fun and games: handle your responsibilities first, then plan how to have a good time. Your impulses, once you yield to them, will have a tendency to lead you further and further from where you need to be. Make sure you lock the door behind you before disappearing; when you're in this kind of mischievous mood, you probably won't want anyone else to know where you're going.
