It's amazing what slobs tourists can be

Full story: Atlanta Journal-Constitution

I'm like most Georgians who have felt grainy sand in their sandals, been tickled by ocean breezes flirting around their faces or inhaled the strong scent of saltwater marshes.

There goes another local blameing their mess on all the tourist. It useally the locals that are throwing their trash overboard from boats and leaving dipers and cans on the beach. There are a few tourist that have no reguard for the places they visit but the ones that reurn year after year are generally neat and respectful people. As for the beaches I have been to along the east coast if you follow a litterbug back to its car they almost always have a local license plate attached.

I don't know who is throwing the trash, I just know that when I walk the beach on Jekyll, I now carry a trash bag with me to pick up what I can. I have noticed that there is more trash every year. Oh yes, I am from the Atlanta area.

I know the mess seems to be getting worse. We were going to the Gulf coast for our vacations but the beaches were becoming more and more trashed up. Thank God there are people like Sandra.

We live in West Tennessee and visit Jekyll every year. It does seem to be getting worse there. Maybe because of more people going there. We have noticed that there are lot's of locals that fish at the pier and on the south side. I have seen trash left at both areas. It really is a shame, we really do admire Jekyll and hope it remains a great place to get away. We hope it never developes more than it already is. We do try to help out when we visit by not littering the beaches there, and we also pick up trash when we see it. It is just such a great place to be ruined by littering (and development)

Sorry but I do not want to have trash in my car,
I have and will continue to throw my trash out anytime I can.
I would rather it be out somewhere than in my car.

Take some civic pride and save your trash for your favorite "Adopt a roadway" group, and throw it out there. Yes, show your support by giving them trash to pickup, so they can keep thier free signs!!!]

Daily Horoscope for January 1

Capricorn

Happy New Year, Capricorn! I don't think the hair of the dog will help much this morning! If you're socialising again today, keep a rein on your expenses, as there could be a slight confusion in financial matters. Friends will be at your side and bail you out if there is a crisis. Use your strong internal discipline to accomplish your personal goals this year.
