Why The Public School System Is A Joke

I would agree that the way education is taught is a joke. There is too much focus on standardized testing and not enough focus on preparing kids for life.

Schools should teach; parents should prepare their kids for life. I graduated from Brownwood schools, obtained a bachelors degree, then a doctorate. My education in the brownwood public school system did not hamper me in anyway.

If you count the laptops, cell phones, digital TVs, iPods, digital cameras and microwave ovens in your home, I'll bet you own more than a dozen computing devices. Quixotic, your list in the opening comment of the thread is off. My child read Animal Farm, The Scarlet Letter, Huckleberry Finn and Uncle Tom's Cabin in her PUBLIC school. She graduated last year w/honors and is currently in the Honors Program and on the Dean's List at the DI university she attends. You, however, can't even spell COLLEGE correctly and apparently have no idea what sentence structure is! No wonder you only taught 1 year!

I'm not even american. Was there twice in my whole life, the country is alright, I liked it, but it's damn sure far away from being number 1.
I'm not the least bit interested in american inner-politics (more like the petty disputes, but then again what can you expect from texan cowboys, mississipi rednecks, or great plains farmers talking about politics?), except from how you people handle your education system. That was quite a "wtf" experience.

Bashing France for what it does sometimes is okay, as long as you got some valid statements.. but bashing the country for it's political constitution is simply idiotic from an american since that shows how little one knows about it's own country.. blame it on the education. Ever heard of Rousseau? List goes on.

Don't get me wrong I like America very much, it's a great country, just like many out there. But somethings should be acknowledged if you wanna make it even better a country.
