My thoughts are this...as people say, they have heard lots of things...I've heard this...I don't know if it has to do with Jud or not but it does have to do with a certain partner of his. On Saturday, the Bischoff camp was out doing some door to door. I heard that a couple of their workers were harassed while making their rounds...
Those involved surrounded them, keeping them away from their car. One of the campaigners was a young man...college age.
Are those people so afraid of Bob Bischoff winning that they resort to harassing young men. From what I heard, the police had to get involved so that the two campaigners could get back to their car. Call me crazy, but that just isn't right!

yes I am voting for Bob wrote:
<quoted text>
Ok... Bob Bischoff is running for State Representative not Congress.. I doubt that he has even met President Obama or had an opportunity to "stand up to him".... He is pro-gun (endorsed by the NRA) Pro-life and votes that way, fiscally conservative, and a family man. He is just like the rest of us in southern Indiana... a simple honest family man that has worked to faithfully represent us in this part of the State.
It take a long time to work from the back bench to the front row in the State House. But along the way, Bob has gained valuable knowledge, experience, and insight. When we reelect him; we get more than just a State Representative.. we get an advocate, a friend and someone on our side in Indianapolis. Don't throw that all away on election day. We can't afford to start over.
Since when does it matter that Bob is our "friend" in Indianapolis. I don't want any candidate there to be my friend.....I want the candidate that is actually going to go to Indy and fight for responsible property taxation, who is actually Pro-Life (Bob voted for tax credits for Planned Parenthood, the single largest abortion lobby in the country).
And why shouldn't he stand up to Obama and the spending spree that our Federal Government has taken? Our representatives should be voting right now to STOP being sucked into the giant hurricane that is Washington, while we still have ahold of our wallets.
"We can't afford to start over"......really?
We absolutely need to start over. The system has grown to one giant entitlement program. One that we can not sustain, and I don't see Bob working to stop that.
Indiana needs to gain control of its own education program, and revolutionize the objectives. This nation has nearly a 50% High School Dropout rate. Do you think that those dropouts are going to grow up to be voting for personal responsibility? Not likely! They are going to want the same hand-out that their parents are getting. Who is going to pay for that????? Well, I guess Obama will just print more money, forever devaluing the dollar.
I don't want my representative to be my friend...I want him/her to be ready to go toe-to-toe with the establishment.
THis state and country will be lost forever, if we don't start over.
Did I say Jud was a Saint? No, and neither did Jud, and neither am I. But, I believe he has the ability to work on our behalf in an effective manner. He's smart, he believes in the State and Federal Constitution, and knows the law. The state is taxing business-owners into leaving the state.

Keep in mind, in the days of the founding fathers, the citizens begged the business owners, and the smartest business men, to run for office. Even George Washington was reluctant to be in office.
All of those founding fathers were businessmen, and their opportunities to be successful were in their business dealings (not politics). They understood that public service was not intended to be a career path. But, for the betterment of the country, they agreed to take 2 or 4 years away from their private lives, to impart their wisdom for the good of the union. And then, when they had put their work into effect, they moved on....and left the next generation of smart businessmen to follow their footsteps.

I'm sorry, but 33 years in the Statehouse is not following that model. Maybe Jud is not the guy for this. But, I'm inclined to believe that he'll get this ball rolling in the right direction.
Seriously, I know of 100 businessmen/women who could have a tremendous impact, on our behalf, in Indianapolis. But, how many of them are willing to have their laundry splattered across this (and a thousand other) web blogs? Maybe that number is Zero! Folks, THAT is what we should be fearing.
We are systematically "dumbing-down" our abilities, as a State, and a Nation.

Some of this stuff on this thread makes me sick...you just want to make a splash, so you say that Bob or Jud are womanizers, or baby-killers, or thugs, or simple-minded.....(well, I might agree with the simple-minded one, but anyway...)
Yes, character counts, it absolutely does.
And I believe that it is our duty to remain factual about the serious condition of the state and nation. We don't have time to quibble over Dayton newspapers from 2005.
I'm not blind to it.....but I'm realistic.

btw - if you research this stuff, you'll find that the Ohio State Bar Association actually wrote to the Attorney who filed the lawsuit against Jud. The letter states that there was no merit to the attorney's claim, and that he should have never wasted the court's time with the suit in the first place. The attorney was trying to get his son out of prison, and trying to use his position to leverage any angle he could get. Can we please stay on the subject of Indiana State Legislature, now ????

The election is not about Jud or Bob... its about control of the Indiana State House. What happened the last time the Republicans controlled the House? They tried to raid the local riverboat gaming money which is vital to District 68. Mitch and Jud may say that a deal is a deal but in 2005 when Jud's buddy Brian Bosma was Speaker it took everything that our southeastern Indiana legislators had to to stave off attemps to reshuffle Ohio River riverboat gambling taxes from local to state coffers.
House Republicans – who controlled the chamber in 2005 – came up with a plan for taking away local gambling revenues, They wanted to take $75 million annually in riverboat casino revenue from communities with casinos and place that money in the state’s general fund to fund items like the new Colts stadium. Bob Bischoff, was vital to stopping the attempt to strip local communities of riverboat dollars.

"Rep. Jeff Espich, R-Uniondale, was chairman of the powerful Ways and Means Committee that year and would likely get that job again if the GOP retakes control of the House after this election. Espich said in 2005 that even if lawmakers weren’t successful then in taking local casino revenue and redistributing it either to the state budget or non-casino counties, they would likely do so in the future."

“This has been discussed behind the scenes for years. We need to get it out in the open,” Espich said.“This issue is not going to go away.”

A vote for Jud is a vote for Bosma as Speaker(ask Jud who pays for that Blackberry that he carries around) and a vote for Espich as Ways and Means Chairman. It's also a vote against Southeastern Indiana. No; its not about Jud's Dayton escapades or lies about Bob's supposed abortion votes. its about standing up for us. How do you think Jud will vote when his Blackberry starts ringing with a call from his Indianapolis bosses? We know how Bob has reacted in the past when faced with this issue. We can only hope that Mitch's junior "wingman" doesn't get shot down by friendly fire from above.
IT DOES matter that Bob is our "friend" in Indianapolis. An effective friend.

Actually I am disgusted by it all. I absolutely DO NOT AGREE with the type of campaign Bob is doing. If that is all he has after 30 years in office, then it must be time for him to go. I can forgive somebody for making bad judgments, but Bob is hurting more people then just Jud with this type of campaign smut. One simple enclosed letter with the facts would have been sufficient. This every day crap showing up in my mail will not get my vote.

After digging, it looks to me as though this woman, Crystal Stapleton, was never an actual client of McMillan's. Nor was McMillan working in the prosecutors office while doing whatever with the woman.

Here's the sad thing for Bishoff........ I used to vote for the guy.

It's not happening this year, in large part because his Dems committed a rather hypocritical smear.

All of Clinton's sexual impositions upon unwilling women were OK with the Dems. It was cool for Chris Dodd and Teddy Kennedy to attempt a waitress sandwich with an unwilling victim. It was OK for Kennedy to abort his girlfriend at Chappaquiddick by driving her off of a bridge. It was cool for John Edwards to get a new girlfriend pregnant and bag his cancer stricken wife. Obama's indiscretions are also fine with them.

Seems to me that McMillan's consenting relationship with that woman, who was not his client, might have been stupid, but pales in comparison to what the Dems think is OK.

I guess now that the truth about Jud has been put out for everyone to read for themselves, Jud's Cronies are pulling out all the stops trying to save him.

Neither Candidate is a rose in this election and I am sure no matter who wins the people will not get what they expect or deserve.

Either vote for the guy that gives you VERY LITTLE, or vote for the guy that will be shaking your hand and checking out your wife or daughter? At least after 30 years I would hope Bischoff would have already sold out all he can where as a new candidate will be fresh meat for the lobbyists and special interest groups. Based on how Jud has handled himself in the past, a few dollars and a few woman thrown his way can do a lot of damage to Southeastern Indiana.

Jud seems like a nice enough kid, and had he brought this up on his own, like a responsible candidate would have, it may be different. I mean did he really think it was not going to get out? Shows more immaturity and arrogance to me. He should have brought it up a year ago and taken the sting and thunder out of it then. Sorry all you folks in Orange, he is a likable kid, but I do not want to be sold out to career politicians or Corporate America for a weekend in Vegas and a few skank hookers. From the stories I have heard about his womanizing, and what I have read online at the links posted on this forum, there is no doubt in my mind that is all we would be worth to Jud!

I have posted this twice on this forum but someone must keep feeling the need to have it removed. Since it only stayed on for a few hours last time I can only assume that the $20.00 to remove it must be coming out of someone's CAMPAIGN FUND!

You democrats are trying this same strategy in Kentucky against Rand Paul and it's even backfiring on you within the ranks of your own party with other Dem candidates and backers who have clearly rejected the depravity and depts to which have been stooped.

Do we decide who to vote for based on a person's youth?

If Kentucky and Southeast Indiana is any indication, only if you're a democrat with a desperate campaign.

There's dirt in Bob's shorts too if we decide to go that far back and dig, now isn't there.

Jud McMillan has a far superior education. He's got a successful career as a private practice attorney. He's a successful investor and businessman.

Bob is a career politician with a high school education and background in maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Slice and dice the past all you want. We'll keep digging into Bob's past as well. That game is neverending.

The real meat and potatos is what's here and now. Bob is a played out union shill. Jud is an up and coming, successful man who already has demonstrated himself beyond his youthful shenanigans.

You make it sound like his bad decisions were decades ago. I wish they were, This is something that has progressed from his high school days until just a few years ago. That's like saying that cake I ate yesterday wasn't really cheating on my diet, it was just a youthful indiscretion.

Secondly, Jud did not make that office successful, Teen, Ron Rychner made that office successful and Mullin before them. It's not hard to come into daddy's business, uproot a partner that has been there 20 years, take his cases and call yourself a success.

Lastly, I am not a democrat, you have no idea how hard it is to support or vote for one, but in this case, the democratic candidate is the only one I can vote for in good conscience. I do not cross party lines often, but in this race, i feel i have no choice. Sorry to the party, but I have to vote with morals this time. Don't be too sad, I am still voting for linkel so i did sacrifice some!

One thing is certain, the Dems have one standard for themselves, and another for the conservatives.

Maybe they just expect us to have more moral fiber than they do.

One wonders why a pro-life Catholic would stick with the Democrat party for so many years. Below is the latest abortion plank of their political platform.

Note the part which says that a women has a right to an abortion even if she can't pay. That means the Dems support enslaving the rest of us to pay for those abortions.

DEMOCRAT PLATFORM:
“The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v Wade and a woman’s right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.”

“The Democratic Party also strongly supports access to comprehensive affordable family planning services and age-appropriate sex education which empower people to make informed choices and live healthy lives. We also recognize that such health care and education help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and thereby also reduce the need for abortions.”

“The Democratic Party also strongly supports a woman’s decision to have a child by ensuring access to and availability of programs for pre and post natal health care, parenting skills, income support, and caring adoption programs.”

I,ve been trying to find the truth about Jud. This info is hard to get. He appears to be OK but I will still vote for Bob Bischoff. Bob has earned his job and has represented SE Indiana well. As to the charges he only cares about the boats. What would be the states position with out them? These casinos have been good corprate ciizens in their communities.

Boy this sure is Great. When Bill Clinton had his fling , Henry Hyde and the moral Republicans went so far as to try and impeach the President. Now here comes young Jud,and the same moral Republicans are trying to HIDE his fling!. Jud to me is a liar! I will not vote for him.
I myself am a REAGAN REPUBLICAN, I don't see many regular Republicans that can even measure up to the REAGAN MANTEL. Any way I will keep looking and vote for those that to me are the better choice. Bob Bischoff is the better choice in this race.

Do your really think that Jud would be back in Brookville practacing law if he didnt get in trouble in Ohio? He came back because he was in trouble and his daddy knew people that would help him. Plain and simple.
