Speaking as a victim of child abuse, I have chosen a different path. I understand, it's right for me and not everybody, but I decided a long time ago I could choose to continue to be a victim forever, and let that man control my happiness for the rest of my life. I could also choose to believe in my God and what my faith teaches, which is that no matter how bad it gets three things are true: I am loved by God. I am to love others as I am loved. And God makes the decisions, not me. Now THAT was an enlightened, cogent, articulate response... Well said!!!

Did you even read my post above? And does your Bible form some kind of subcommittee that advises God on what decisions to make? Because that's what I hear from judgemental people. Suddenly, everybody has an opinion on who does and does not get into Heaven, like it's some kind of fraternity. And, in my experience, those who are the most intense about who should and shouldn't get in are the same people who like to think they're the "best" Christians. Somehow, I just don't think they're gettin it. Aren't we supposed to want to help others get there? Even if they've done wrong? I think Earl would call that rehabilitation. You can call it "saved" if you want, but I've seen people who claim to be "Good Christians" throw away people who have sinned faster than they throw spoiled leftovers out of the fridge. Judge not...

I do not have the power to look into someones heart to see if they have changed or if they are pretending to change.I am not perfect,Only God is.All I can say is if I knew someone to be a pedophile .I will not trust them with a child!!You said you also was abused as a child and was able to forgive.But really have you also forgot .Does it not bother you to Know they are still out there and could hurt someone else?

Treatment just assures the molesters that they will be free to harm children once they're done. All they have to do is lie their way through! The Death Penalty assures us all that person will never touch another kid EVER AGAIN! Now how does that NOT work? That just means you won't have a job supporting them anymore.
