We stated facts. People did not like the facts pointed out to them. If they did not want them pointed out, then stay off an open forum. Try praying to God and not to a saint. Can you tell me where in your Bible it says to pray to saints or Mary? I am a former Catholic so I can tell you it isn't there. But you go look, keep praying to your saints and see what happens.

Try again bozo. There is nothing in the bible that says anything about worshiping the saints. Am I happy this church is closing? NO. Never said that. My comments said that it is the fact that Catholics think $5 in the plate is enough and don't tithe. I went to 8 years of Catholic schools. We were taught to worship the saints and Mary. Your Msgr cannot allow or disallow anything that I do. Read your bible. I still have the one I was given when we got married. It says nothing about worshiping or praying to the saints. It says there is only one way to the Father and that is through Jesus. All I ask is that you read it. It is what opened my eyes.

You were apparently poorly chatechized as a youngster and are confused by what is actually taught by the Church.

You will notice that saints isn't capitalized. The saints spoken about here are those who have died (not just the ones the Pope calls saints). We are to pray to God, not to Joseph or Mary or another of the "Saints". Wish I had my bible at work. But it is in there. No one comes to the father but through Me.(Me was Jesus). I am not confused. I just have wised up and learned that what the Catholic church teaches is not for me.

there is some obvious confusion here! pitypat is following the tradions of the Church pitypat prays the Rosary daily, and honors the saints daily. pitypat does not worship them. They are for our intercession. since vatican 2 the catholics are scattered too much in their thinking. To Jesus thru Mary , said the great st. alphonsus Ligouri. Tomorrow is the feast of the great st. Martin of tours, honoring them only gives more intense worship to God. The catholic faith is not a series of people's opinions. AMEN today is the birthday of martin luther, the one who cause serious harm in the church, remobing marriage as a sacrmanet, and thus many graces lost! obviously the spirit of luther is coming to the surface in others in this forum!
