This forum is about the Louis H. Pink Houses on Linden Blvd in East NY.

Is this the worst housing project in Brooklyn? possibly US?

Some incidents (I am sure I am missing a lot)

1)Foxy Brown getting beat up a couple of years ago
2)Former Thug in wheelchair getting shot in the head last week.
3)PA man thrown off the top of a building with his arms ducktaped behind them
4)homeless man set on fire in building
5)Young man returns home from completing college and then gets killed.
-I am missing a lot but the list goes on and on

If you have any opinions on housing projects that are worse in US or any stories about the Pink Houses please respond. Please provide specific detailed examples so all readers of this forum can contribute.

The Louis Pink houses in my opinion is one of the worst managed and housing project to live in the East New York section of Brooklyn. When I moved in I received a entry door key and have not used it once. The reason is because you don't need a key because all of the entry door lock are broken and the doors are kept widely opened for violaters and trespassers to do as they please. Also, the ground and property is dirty and not kept clean. The windows have locks and need cleaning but you cannot receive a single key to open the locked windows. I can go on but I think you get the message, do not come here unless you don't have any choice and were you are is worst.

Housing project's are a perfect way to breed criminals, you wanna end the violence? elminate or censor, music that promotes and glorifies violence, including death metal and heavy metal, put the ignorant somewhere where they will eventually kill eachother off, they are lower life forms, like the neatherdals that went extinct and cro magnons that evolved, somewhere where they cannot hurt/kill people who are intelligent and have something to give to humanity and life, like that young man who was killed after completing college, i say we destroy the housing projects and build single family homes with backyards in there place

Your thoughts sound like a good plan. but in reality how would you determine who is a "lower life forms, like the neatherdals". We store some of these people in jail based on the crimes they commit. but as a society we can not just point a finger at somebody and say you are a neatherdal, you have to live somewhere else just b/c they listen to rap, smoke weed or drink 40s on the street. Our constitution and freedom of liberty was not built on that. The projects are horrible but if you can't make more than $10K a year, where else are you going to be able to afford to live????

When the East is in the house...oh my god!! Born and raised in ENY, I have to go with the Pink Houses as being the worst. I have family that lives in Albany projects, they dont even come close to the Pink Houses. They are protected by the fact that they live 2-3 blocks from the Jews and we all know that the NYPD is bought and paid for by the Jews so it is only so much they are going to let happen in Albany, where as living in ENY is like living in a cave!!

I grew up in Breukelen Houses in Canarsie back in the 70's-80's. This used to be one of the safest along with Bayview and Glenwood houses. What do you think the problems are? Is it a different set of people moving on or what? I no longer live in Brooklyn, but I do visit and things in this project have definitely changed. I recall the Pink Houses always being off the hook along with Cypress Hills.

I grew up across the street from the williamsburg houses on scholes st. in the 50's and 60's.Many of my friends lived in those buildings and they had great green areas for playing football and basketball courts.Anyone know how life is there now,I know their still there I scanned the neighborhood on google and the area seems to have held up pretty well and I saw a lot of new buildings on scholes st.

I grew up in the Pinks and lived there for 18 years. Make no mistake, its not the projects itself that are bad but the people that live there. When you don't give a damn about your surroundings, piss and shit in your elevators and plot to mug your neighbors you are a lower life form but that isn't for everyone. There are decent people who have been dealt a blow where they can't afford to move. This economy is tough and anyone who could afford it has moved on to greener pastures. But in all its a horrible place to live because the people who live there have no regard for human life.

i live in louis h. pink houses and its not as bad as you people think. the cleaners work very hard not going to lie there has been shootings and other bad things. But what project aprment doesent thats not ran by whites or jews (non-raceist) but its not everyone in the bulding makes the apt bulding bad! beacuse i have two working parents that have cars money jewlery can support me and themselves! & i wna refure to one comment made:about the doors being open and the locks dont work. i would like to state that is a lie beacause my locks work perfectly and i have never had a robbery in my home ever. so most of you people writing bullshit about pink houses never been here a day in your life your only talking bullshit because someone told a lie (& ima get your false facts) turned into the truth by me

A baby was found stuffed inside a pillow this week at the Pink Houses. Nobody knows the motivation behind why the mother did it, but it is a real tragedy and sad story.

Yeah, Cabrini Green in Chicago was worse than this.

But Forest City are far and away the biggest slumlords. Have fun with Atlantic Yards.

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Aquarius

It's a sociable and gregarious mood my dears, so it would be a shame to keep yourself to yourself. Not that there's much likelihood of that, because with the Moon in Leo and your seventh house of others, your popularity is on the rise and you're in demand. Why not go out with your other half, or meet some friends? Get everyone together for a drink or a meal.
