Safe? Yeah, right. But then again, nowhere is truly safe.

A couple of people have sent me messages regarding this post, so I just want to follow up these few years later. I did end up moving there, and though it was somewhat uncomfortable initially I never had any problems with safety. I do not live in the building anymore, but I live nearby and love the area. The neighborhood, and Regent Place itself, has changed a lot. It's still nothing like, say, Park Slope, but I personally think it's a great place to live, especially if you're looking for a lot of space for cheap.

Ah - it wasn't such a bad place to live when I live there with my wife Glady's and my daughter Annie. That was quite a few years ago. Would anyone out there want to share a photo of old 2025 Regent Place with an old man who had some great memories of the place. Thanks - Lenny

You people are crazy. The police have a constant patrol. They are locking up the people, who think the neighborhood is gonna stay terrible. As for those people who are outside smoking, they are getting arrested. Thanks! to the cctv cameras, and the cameras installed outside the buildings. Ive seen much worst neighborhoods. You can walk at night. I neglected to mention that the cameras are installed on Flatbush and E.21. So the police can see the whole area. Just mind your business and no one will bother you. The people who are posting the negative post are just trying to discourage her.

Stay out of flatbush unless you feel like going back in time to 1990 when every person on the block was potentially unsavory scumbag. I been living in NYC for 31 years, mostly in bk. Recently I moved out of flatbush because it was soo laim. The people are soo ignorant and uneducated. Remember back in the 80s-90s when people used to walk into you on purpose and talk shit looking for beef or distract you while their gang jump you? Well I do and havent experienced this since the 90s. Its like they went back in time and brought back all of the behavior that landed them in jail. Some towns progress as others fall backwards. Flatbush is terrified to progress so better off looking into more enlightened neighborhoods.

Ok so I've lived here on Regent for about 14mo. now & the neighborhood really isn't that bad. The cameras have cut down on the b.s. considerably even just over the last year. It can be a little loud at night in the summer but with my A.C or fan its tolerable. May I add I am a white female with a 5yr old child the neighbor has done nothing less then embrace both myself & son as part of it. You cant always judge a book...we all know the saying. To validate some of the other posts from 2009 and even into 2010 this block has come a looong way & continues to move in the right direction of a peaceful & unified neighborhood.

Thats a nice dream of candyland I need to think more positive like you. Those chalk outlines on sidewalk are urban art. The empty shell casings are part of brass recycling program. Those hookers with net stockings are the welcoming comittee. Those wanksters wearing gang uniforms are part of interpretive dance group. Now the neighborhood does look great, no drive buys, or kidnapping. All sunshine and lollypops fro now on. Welcome to the neighborhood.

You think it's bad you don't know what bad is i had to walk down that street everyday to take my daughter to school the worst part we had to deal with was the fact that a new neighbor supposed to be a friend named Cynthia had to date a man and he fucked up the building he dropped a gun on my kitchen window and he shot at my window 2 mins after my little girl Tionne left out of there do not go there its bad news.

Its not that bad a neighborhood if you dont mind bullets flying thru your kitchen while baking a cake or steppung outside and smelling feces in the air every day.

I live nearby, and honestly Flatbush is not as bad as it was in the 90s. But living here, I noticed that there is still plenty of crime, however, many of the crime is not reported.
Regent place has definitely changed, but I still won't label it as being a safe neighborhood. Shootings and stabbings still occur, and you do get of presence of drug dealing going on. When I walk up to flatbush ave, I usually try to avoid walking through there and east 21 between Beverly and regent. I have noticed they put cameras all around regent which Cleary shows that the neighborhood needs constant patrolling. I just recommend anyone not to walk through there if they don't need to.

Ya those cams are no joke. Not bs security cams more like eye in the sky. They dont put those cams in park slope or bayridge. Sometimes its not the people on your block, its being close proximity to the real problems.

Thanks for posting this. I'm new to the neighborhood and I have yet to experience any problems during the day or late at night. After reading the comments I was getting skeptical until a few reassuring comments towards the end of the feed. I guess that's evidence that the neighborhood has changed over time. Glad to hear that at least!
