A good job by the town's labor attorney and the first selectman helps the town hold a zero percent increase overall as promised. The previous first selectman Jerry Murphy, gave away too much.

The town asks its employees to not take raises but they are willing to spend $800,000 to purchase "open space" and $8-9 million on a new library (that's not needed). This town sucks plain and simple.

EXACTLY!!! It's the older, longer time ones that are unwilling to help. The extitlement attitude. Hope some of them have been using their SUMMER OFF to take note of the unemployment figures. Maybe some will join them next year. And what clowns gave them 4% increases??? It's for the children, give me a break.

Oh yeah 4% how crazy. When people were getting six figure bonuses and enormous pay raises a few years ago nobody commented that all those lowly public servants were getting 3% raises. Now its a travesty that they are getting raises, as if their cost of living didn't sky rocket like the rest of ours. |Don't screw the hard working dedicated employees in our towns. Examine the budgets and cut out the true waste and every politician knows that there is plenty of wasteful spending. Budget on NEEDS not WANTS.

Yes but they are 'good' lies. Just ask them. They will tell you and explain it to you until your head hurts.

Brookfield be ready for either a mass exodus of officers or officers who just don't care and give you the absolute minimum. The bottom line is you get what you pay for. Don't go to McDonalds and act surpised when you do not get Filet Mignon. I hear New Milford is about really screw their cops. New Milford has always been a corrupt department. It's only the last 10 years that they have become one of the best in the state. Now Mayor Murphy and their chief is about to flush it all down the toilet.
