Nealon died at age 60 on July 1, 2009. He was a teenager in the early 1960's. I remember Don. He went to BSS. he was a year or so ahead of me. Then we had LaRocca and Castagnetta(spelling). My cousin met her husband at Ft. Slocum in the early 1950's.

Another vet recently contacted me to find out how we could find someone that remembered names of either military or civilians that were there between 1960 and 1965, when it closed. Hi I represent the Ft Slocum Alumni & Friends. Pls email at michaelacavanaugh@earthlink.ne t; visit our website at www.home.earthlink.net/~michaelacavanaugh .

My family lived at Fort Slocum in the late 1950"s. Col. Nealon was deputy commander and Col. Jackson was Commander. My father, Thomas J Moran was Information Officer. My sister and I went to Blessed Sacrament, rode the ferry with Captain Mike (before the new ferry with radar). Our apartment was near the water tower. We were friends with the Manions, Keefes.
