... WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...

A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA MONDAY NIGHT... POSSIBLY MIXING WITH FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET AT TIMES. PERIODS OF SNOW... SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ARE THEN EXPECTED FROM TUESDAY INTO TUESDAY NIGHT BEFORE DIMINISHING ON WEDNESDAY. THE PRECIPITATION WILL LIKELY MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO RAIN FOR A TIME TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND TUESDAY NIGHT... ESPECIALLY FOR LOCATIONS ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE HAL ROGERS PARKWAY AND HIGHWAY 80. PERIODS OF HEAVY PRECIPITATION ARE EXPECTED FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT.

BASED ON THE FORECAST TRACK OF THIS STORM SYSTEM AT THIS TIME... THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR UP TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING... WITH SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF ICE FROM FREEZING RAIN ALSO LIKELY. THE EXACT AMOUNT AND TYPE OF PRECIPITATION WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE TRACK OF THIS STORM. IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THERE CONTINUES TO BE A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE TRACK OF THIS WEATHER SYSTEM... SO BE SURE TO LISTEN FOR LATER UPDATES.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW... SLEET... OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.
More Information

... SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM POSSIBLE FOR PARTS OF EAST KENTUCKY MONDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING...

.A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE NORTHEAST OUT OF TEXAS MONDAY NIGHT... REACHING TENNESSEE BY TUESDAY EVENING. THIS WEATHER SYSTEM WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION TO EASTERN KENTUCKY MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.

If we get it be safe everyone. I think we will head out tonight to do a little stocking up just in case the ice makes the electric go out and we get stranded for a few days.

Wish you all the best. I am here in Tennessee and it's already been sleeting here this afternoon. Not bad, but enough to let us know it's coming.

better get the groceries and get bak in the house while its still halfway decent weather out,be safe everyone.Where we live its not bad right off th main road,so if things get too bad we might be abl to get out.But the thing is,this will be our first big snow if it all hits. You know these days the planets and the moon have to align just correctly things like that.

I just got back from a few stores shopping and it seems like no one cares about the storm. Well I am going to be the one sitting back not worrying after it hits, unlike those people. Ky hasn't had a good Winter storm in years and I think that most people just aren't concerned about it because they think it won't happen. It has to happen sometime so why not this week? The old timers will be prepared, but the younger generation won't. I am sure that they are the ones that will be out on the roads after it hits.

Good luck all.

... WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM EST WEDNESDAY.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA TONIGHT AS A STORM SYSTEM MOVES NORTHEAST OUT OF TEXAS... TRACKING ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY. THE SNOW MAY BECOME MIXED WITH SOME SLEET... OR EVEN A LITTLE FREEZING RAIN... LATE TONIGHT... ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF THE MOUNTAIN PARKWAY. 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED BY TUESDAY MORNING. THE SNOW SHOULD GRADUALLY CHANGE TO A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET... WITH SOME SNOW ALSO MIXED IN... DURING THE DAY TUESDAY. AREAS TO THE NORTH OF INTERSTATE 64 WILL LIKELY NOT SEE THE CHANGEOVER UNTIL LATE IN THE DAY. A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN... RAIN... AND SLEET WILL CONTINUE INTO TUESDAY NIGHT. SOME SNOW WILL ALSO BEGIN TO MIX IN OVERNIGHT AGAIN AS WELL.

AT THIS TIME... IT APPEARS TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS COULD RANGE FROM 3 TO 7 INCHES FROM MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. ONE HALF TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH OF ICING FROM FREEZING RAIN IS ALSO POSSIBLE. DOWNED POWER LINES... TREES... OR TREE LIMBS... COULD RESULT FROM THE WEIGHT OF THE ICE. RESIDENTS SHOULD PREPARE FOR POSSIBLE EXTENDED POWER OUTAGES. TRAVEL COULD ALSO BE EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

THE EXACT AMOUNT AND TYPE OF PRECIPITATION WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE TRACK OF THIS STORM. IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THERE CONTINUES TO BE A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT TRACK OF THIS WEATHER SYSTEM... SO BE SURE TO LISTEN FOR LATER UPDATES.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW... SLEET... AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
