Isn't the above, exactly what the Democratic Party is against? Isn't Rathgeber head or chairman of the Otero County Democratic Party? I don't know how she can be head of both groups. I guess she can believe whatever is appropriate at the time.

Rep Cook is very concerned about the recommendation to close Holloman and High Rolls...I would plead with all of you to call and e-mail him and help keep the pressure on the board to vote NO on July 13th.

The mission of Eagle Forum has expanded quite a bit since I last checked in. Why not adopt an opposition to NAIS (National Animal Identification System) or similar issues that strike a little closer to home and threaten the very governmental values of our country? NAIS is laws being made that circumvent the legislative process and are something that is not OK to let 'slide' in favor of these other issues. How many even really know what the cost of NAIS or 'Carbon Credits and Cap and Trade' really mean to their families? Not many I bet.

One of these things is not like the other one. Can you guess which one?

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the Democratic Parties of both Otero and Lincoln Counties submitted 2 names for the Governor to consider for this seat. I am glad Mr. Cook came to Otero County to meet the people of a county that he is not all that familiar with. You were very quick to agree with the values of the Eagle Forum, even though before coming to the meeting had no idea what they stood for. I, a "liberal" democrat do not feel very comfortable having you represent Otero County. As a State Representative you represent all people in the district. That includes, liberals, independents, conservatives,people who choose no party and all others. You have made it quite clear what and whom you support and at this point my values are not your values, my priorties are not going to be your priorities. I do not live in your district but decisions you make at the legislature will in some way affect all of us living in Otero County.You have been appointed to fill out the remainder of Rep. Williams term.The Democratic party will be finding a candidate to take another seat and make it democratic in Otero and Lincoln counties. The republicans on the national level are not doing so well. The eagle Forum and other sanctimonious conservative groups want to protect the sanctity of marriage, how about the sanctity of divorce.While you are out there doing that your congressmen I guess can't hear your values or they don't want to. Mr. Cook I wish you good luck.

Good luck Stephanie. Your democrats are doing a heck of a job so far. Isn't the House, Senate, Supreme Court and Presidency enough for you? Will you only quit bashing Republicans when every elected member everywhere is a Democrat? Is it ok with you if some us with conservative values have a voice? Your values are not mine either so quit pushing them on us on your radio show. If you want to be fair and balanced why don't you invite conservatives on your show? Hypocrit. You are so bitter and I feel sorry for you.

And by the way I did vote for Obama wanting a change from what I was seeing in D.C., but so far it looks like the economy is getting worse. I do want him to succeed and hate to see this country falling apart. How about identifying some shortfalls of the Democrats who are currently in charge instead of the minority Republicans who really don't have a voice right now. Is everything going wrong in this country still the Republicans fault or will your party take some accountability? Yes Bush did screw up and his actions had me temporarily drift away from my party, but I am back. Good luck to the Democrats getting everything back in order. Should have no excuses now that they run every key part of government. New Mexico is not a key part of the government by the way.

To good guy, i have invited conservatives on my show, as a matter of fact I invited the new city councilman Renschler to come on this past monday. i also extended an invitation to all the city councilors whether democrat or republican. I realize they do not run on party lines, but the republicans make sure we know who is who.As far as my radio show goes it is a liberal show pushing democrats. I have i hour of what you don't like to 55 hours of what you do like so as far as fair and balanced .I would would take it up with the management of the radio station.You are free to call in and give your opinion. I won't cut you off. i may not agree with you but I defend your right to express your opinion. Or as an alternative you don't have to listen to it. i don't really care.

to Good guy , as far as, do I want every office to be Democrat, sure why not, You all in this county have enjoyed every office being republican. I have been spit on by your christian and family values republicans, my dad has had his glasses knocked off But that is ok as long as republicans rule evrything in otero County. Why is it that the republicans always want the democrats to participate in a by=partisan effort. I have yet to see the repubs reach out to the democrats. Especially when you have a strangle hold on everything in the county. I will not comment on this any further.

I wish they would get rid of only Democrat and Republican parties,,, it should be open to all groups. I dont like that you must first vote for a person of a particular party and then a either the person which elected based on the party. Example,,, I am a registered Democrat for voting privaledges,, but I choose based on who i like or prefer,, and not by party. So if I dont want a certain person to run for office in my party, I have to vote against them in the primary, so I can vote for another person in the finals. i should be able to vote for whomever I wish,,,, no matter what party.
