It's just now the beginning of October. Already the stores are becoming laden with all kinds of shiny things, gifts, foods, and decorations, anticipating big sales during the Christmas season.

Men are encouraged to buy their wives diamonds, jewelry, furs and expensive gifts.

Parents make lists of all the toys they are expected to give to their kids.

Now, most of the stores, and media refer to this as the 'holiday' season,(they wouldn't want to "offend" anyone by using the word Christmas nowadays).

They show little regard to what is 'supposed' to honor, and give homage to, the birth of Yeshua, the Messiah.

Few realize that the 'Christmas' they observe is actually a pagan festival.

Even unbelievers who are agnostics, or atheists, join in the madness.

They buy and give gifts to themselves and each other, and fill the month of December with busy work waiting for the BIG day of Dec. 25th, not even realizing or perhaps caring that Yeshua was not even born on Dec. 25th.

Why, if they claim they are observing the birth of Yeshua,(Jesus Christ), are they giving gifts to each other????

Many say, they don't care, it's a tradition they are going to keep anyway.

If you are a Christian, who "does Christmas", please read this and see what the Feast of Tabernacles really means and celebrates. I think you will find it very interesting and enlightening.

The "feast of the tabernacle" does not have anything to do with Jesus. It is one for may "religious" holidayy that follow the Jewish holy day cycle cooked up in the old world wide church of god. It is Armstrong's (a lunitics, and known child molesters) version of Sukott, the JEWISH festivle of booths.

All you cult christians really need to pick a religion already!

And Jesus was born in JUNE.

The article you are referring to has nothing whatever to do with Herbert Armstrong. Jumping to such an uninformed, and accusatory conclusion leaves your comment without merit, as does your take that Jesus was born in June.
By the way, Jerry Golden, who authored this brilliant article is a Messianic Jew living in Israel. If you had understood the spiritual content of the article you would have been supremely blessed. It fits perfectly with the timing both of the festivals and the timing of the birth of Messiah.

but here is no such thing as a messianic Jew. You can't have it both ways. If you are a Jew, Jesus is not YOUR messiah. If you want to be a Christian, go for it.
But please pick a religion and celebrate it's traditions without co opting the holiday cycle of a religion that you have turned your back on.

Messianic Jew is about as stupid as Non messianic Christian. It's crazy "end of days" nonsense cooked up by the messianic right wing religious crazies so they (being so superior to the rest of us) can get "raptured" sooner.

There are Jews who are Jews by reason of the fact that they have Jewish ancestors, just as there are Irish or Italians, or Native Americans who have ancestors of those nationalities.

A Jew who has Jewish ancestral lines may convert to Christianity, or Buddism or whatever, but he will still remain a Jew.

Many Jews who convert to Christianity call themselves "Messianic Jews" meaning they now believe in Jesus Christ and the New Covenant.
They are still Jews because of their national heritage.

A Jew may or may not remain in the Judaic system of Old Testament Law,(Torah), but he will still remain a Jew.

Being Jewish doesn't necessarily indicate a Jewish person's religious persuasion. I hope this clarifies things for you :)

I should add that many Messianic Jews observe Torah. I do agree that this is a misapplication of scriptural truths.
However, there are other Jewish people who are Christian by conversion who do not observe Torah.

Bottom-line, from the article that was posted concerning Succot, or Feast of Tabernacles,(and others), there is much to be learned of the Messiah Jesus in the Old Testament history of feasts, festivals and observances, such as Passover, which is but a shadow and type of the death of the Passover Lamb Jesus Christ.

Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater by ignoring these precious truths.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Virgo

Someone is being headstrong and wilful, and absolutely determined to do what they want. Mercury is retrograde and it's a Full Moon in Cancer with a lunar eclipse all happening tonight! This could lead to some heated discussions and possibly even rows, as you argue the toss back and forth. It might be best to accept that there's very little possibility of reaching an agreement rather than to get locked in a stubborn battle of wills. Besides, you don't want anything to spoil what promises to be a very enjoyable New Year's Eve. Have fun!
