A picture of the man sure would help for people reading about him.

I hope they find him safe and sound. I do have to wonder about no health problems - sometimes the family is in denial about what is really happening to Mom or Dad.

ByeBye Courant wrote: I know where McDonald is, and what happened to him. I am not ever going to say, however, until the Courant turns back on the Topix Forums!!! The only reason u have left this forum on and turned all the others off, is you are soliciting information for the police and could care less about free speech. Golly - isn't that an Amendment in the US Constitution??? Lets think this through ---1. Free Press is soliciting Police information to turn over, 2. Press has suppressed all ability to allow free speech in regular articales, from pressure from Hartford local 'Government". 3. Police have coerced Courant to allow Topix forums only on articles where they need information. I believe this is called a POLICE STATE.!!!!! Next they'll be reporting the humane deaths of North End residents as accidents. Bye Bye Courant, I will never read you or go to your website again, you *ussies. Now I'm *glad* you just got hammered with 30% staff cuts. End of your silly paper. It is not the Hartford Courant's duty to allow you to have "free speech." If they want to censor THEIR forum, they can just like if you wanted to create YOUR own website and have a forum on it, YOU could.

Well said and I agree. I just wish the Courant would not be so selective when it comes to which stories get forums. Every story should have this option or none at all. No, but as the press they are supposed to be the guardians of our rights, not the guardians of politicians good name. If the Courant unilaterally made the decision, it's one thing. But to roll over for (another) corrupt politician is all together different, not to mention what passes for police in this state. All residents in all towns should have a say about Hartford and should be able to criticize it and leave their opinions if it--It's out money that's subsidizing the slum. Anyway, too bad the staties are too busy keeping us safe from ourselves by raiding roadside sparkler stands or maybe they could lend a hand.

You have an interestingly skewed and ultimately incorrect view of "Freedom of the Press" and your own personal liberties. The Hartford Courant, as a private entity, has zero responsibility to protect your freedoms. The 1st Amendment is about the GOVERNMENT suppressing your individual rights. If you want to criticize the Courant, you can - the government isn't stopping you. And neither is the Courant because you still have "freedom of the press." The GOVERNMENT isn't stopping you from publishing your own paper (or internet blog) about the Courant.
