and soon those who hate this little family will be putting on their annual Passion Play about a family who, while traveling, had to sleep in a manger having been rejected everywhere else.

And again I will just sigh ....

Duh. Countries have laws. People obey those laws or pay the consequences. Illegals break the law coming here. Anything they suffer is their own fault. There was no need to split up that family. If I was moving to a different country, I would take all my children with me. The illegals chose to leave some here when they got deported.

What did they think, that the USA would find them special in some way? Yes, special in that they needed to be deported. That's the penalty for being in the USA illegally. They aren't citizens and probably wouldn't qualify for legal entry, or they would have done things the right way.

Cause and effect. Illegals make the cause and reap the effect, all because of what they chose to do. No one's fault but their own. Our laws aren't broken and don't need to be fixed. People from other countries need to start respecting our laws and be decent, honest people.

Our communities are made up of citizens and legal immigrants. All illegal aliens are required by law to be deported. The tragedy is that our fedgov refuses to enforce its own laws, for reasons of its own that don't bode well for the American people.

Which member of this little family is the Christ? The news story failed to clue us in on that information. They are illegal aliens breaking US sovereign laws, for pity's sake, not deities. Get real. You'd better sigh a lot more, so you get enough oxygen to your brain. It's faulty, obviously.

Bridge to Nowhere, see you need to take a jab at Christians. You are pathetic.

People who want immigration laws respected are PEOPLE!!! Religion has nothing to do with this. In fact the Rabbi and CC supported these lawbreakers.....

we were never told in all the PITY PARTY Articles in the IJ,

JUST HOW DID THIS ILLEGAL FAMILY WERE ABLE TO AFFORD TO BUY A HOME IN MARIN???

DID THEY PAY FEDRAL AND STATE TAXES?

THIS ILLEGAL COUPLE DID THEY USE FAKE SS#? HOW?

Many unanswered questions, YET TONS OF PITY by you hand wringers, knicker in a twist, sad sacks.

Legal entry ONLY, come through the front door of the USA, and not as sneaks in the night!!!'

SIMPLE LOGIC for those capable of LOGIC!

I'm sure Your Country would'nt mind that at all, right?

Drama queen. They made the CHOICE to break their family apart. No one stopped them but them from taking their children with them. Stop enabling.

I've checked my Bible and found nothing about illegal immigration in the birth of Christ. In fact, his parents were obeying the law by going Bethlehem to be counted in the census. The town was full of people because of that, so they had a difficult time finding a room, but eventually they did, and it happened to be where the animals were also, but that was pretty common back them (people sharing their homes with their livestock). It also fit perfectly with the idea of God humbling himself to become one of us. I really can't figure out how the Christmas story has any connection to this family's predicament. I actually find the parallel insulting, kind of like when gay rights activists compare themselves with the civil rights movement, as though sexual behavior were as involuntary as race.

Anyway, I'm starting to take on a tone that I don't like, but is easy to fall into with these comments. There are so many truths expressed here but I agree that the delivery (sarcastic, condescending, ad hominem attacks, etc.) detracts from their message. The polarization between political parties is at least half caused by the way our differing views are communicated. I understand the passion but not the hostility (well, sometimes). Liberals aren't all mushy and conservatives aren't all hard nosed, and I really hate those labels anyway because no one should be one or the other! I admit to leaning right but I really resent being confined to that linear political scale. I didn't agree with all of Ron Paul's positions, but I voted for him partly because he didn't fit in either box either (also because of his integrity and consistent pro-life record). Abolish the two-party system and let people run on their own platforms and merits.

That said, I do feel compassion for this family. Despite their poor choices, I wish that others could have been deported ahead of them, and I'm sure if the commenters here had a list of all the other illegals in Marin to choose from to send back to their native countries, this family would not have been at the top.

We don't have to let our political views divorce us from our humanity. We can express our support of upholding the law but we don't have to do it with an unfeeling, gloating attitude.

Someone wanted to know why the mother didn't leave her 4 year-old here to have a better life. If you were the mother of a young child, you wouldn't need to ask that.

Illegal immigrants started pouring into the US in the '80's when money flowed and your lazy ass mothers didn't want to take care of your stupid asses nor did they want to clean their own filthy homes, and your feminine fathers liked watching sweaty young Mexicans mow the lawn in tank tops! Wall Street failed and they wanted all the illegal Mexicans they'd used, for pennies, to go home. Well, Guess What!? They didn't! My parents came to this country legally in the '40's, became citizens, avoided socializing with other Latin Americans because of the stigma, completely assimilated the culture, and bought a fabulous house on a hill in Corte Madera but to the BIGOTS OF MARIN they were still scum and were told to GO BACK TO THE RESERVATION. Your murdering fathers brought thousands of Vietnamese over here after they lost the war and gave them Permanent Resident Cards stamped "No Conditions" so they NEVER have to become citizens and they and their families were GIVEN Social Security benefits and pay without ever having worked here. They have brought their families here by the thousands, easily, because of the status of their Res. Card.

One more thing: Before your mamas got into the Flower Power mood in the '60's it was a big thing for your Tatas to cross over the border to Tijuana and, well, let's say "have sex". You have probably spit on one of your 1/2 brothers or sisters. Ask your fathers how many times they crossed over the border and look at their face REAL CLOSE. They left kids there by the thousands and NOW THEY"RE ALL HERE. LOL! You hypocrites!

We owed the Vietnamese a whole lot because of the travesty of fighting a horrific war there, and there weren't 20 million of them brought here, nor were they scamming our services and sneaking around like thieves, stealing identities. We owe illegals nothing, especially Mexican illegals. They think they're entitled for some reason, but they certainly are not.

Perhaps if Mexicans were smarter and better educated, they wouldn't have to be mowing lawns or cleaning houses. They could have stayed in their own country and lived proudly, growing what they needed on the land, instead of bitching and moaning how life isn't fair to them here because they have lowly jobs.

Since you hate America's "lazy ass mothers" who hold jobs Mexican men couldn't handle (and Mexican women don't even understand), and "feminine fathers" who don't enjoy watching animals tear each other apart for the amusement of depraved men, or women strapped under some donkey for the amusement of depraved men whose sexual proclivities should sicken every human taking breath, why don't you move to Mexico and teach them how to be smarter, better educated, and less bestial in their tastes. Perhaps, then, they would someday be welcome in the USA.

You obviously don't realize that people who have good jobs and lots of money don't have to clean their own homes or cut their own lawns and can afford nannies for their children. That doesn't make them lazy, it makes them richer and smarter than the people cutting their lawns and cleaning their houses.

Manual labor doesn't make you pure, it only makes you sweat. There is nothing saintly in mowing a lawn or washing a floor. LOL! You can tell yourself that manual labor is ennobling, but people want time to do other things that interest them. That's what money is for - to buy things you want, and free time is one of them.

Not everyone is qualified to have a seat at the stock exchange. Mexicans should be blaming their own crappy government for keeping them down, and should be fighting for change in their homeland. Mexicans bitch and moan about doing lowly jobs, but they sure are around to do them and are not too proud to take money for doing them. Their choice. No one forced them over the border and no one forces them to work here against our laws.

And nannies don't raise children or educate them, by the way. They change diapers and keep little fingers out of electrical sockets, if they're halfway good at their job. An uneducated nanny is a caretaker, not an educator.

Now money isn't flowing like it did, so yes, it's time for illegals to go home again. Americans don't owe anyone a living, or a free ride, just because they know how to trim shrubs. Life is tough -- that's just the way it is.

I was letting the air out of the repeated 'they-only-come-here-for-a-bet ter-life-for-their-children' mantra the amnesty folks sprout. If the parents truly wanted a better future for their child, why haul her back to a Third-World country?

Oh knock it off. Whats wrong with you people for Christs sakes? WHO, exactly, is tearing their family apart? You? Me? Our
Government? Our laws? You can misassign responsibility and spin it all you want, but the
fact remains, THEY ALONE have torn their family apart. THEY -- not you, not me, made
the decision to enter the US illegally, knowing FULL godamned well it was illegal, and
fully accepting the risk of deportation down the proverbial road. They got busted, had
their day in federal court, lost their bid to stay, the 9th Circuit Court upheld the
depoirtation order, Feinstein refused to weigh-in any further, and the deportation order was executed. Period. Try this schidt in any country in the world - including
those countries south of our border and see what happens. Evidently, every other country is allowed to enforce her sovereignty and border integrity and immigration laws, right? That is, except, if you're the big, bad, awful, heartless United States who takes in MORE legal migrants/immigrants than all nations on this planet combined.
People like you NEVER hold the principal parties who SNEAKED in here responsible. Its
ALWAYS OUR fault in your twisted reasoning.

They benefit our economy, you say? Bullschidt. These illegals collectively have
been a MAJOR factor in the bankrupting and budgetary woes of California. Don't EVEN
toss out that tired, stale, boring, meritless twaddle about how "they" benefit our economy. They've always been more of a financial liability rather than a financial asset. People are tired of this, and its starting to make itself known. The ONLY things wrong with our immnigration laws have been the cavalier enforcement of them. I loathe on every personal level this liberal mindset that its everybody elses fault except those who made the decision to violate our laws -- which DO indeed exist for a reason.

Hey, Bunny - I remember -- Christ, 40 years ago --
on the USS Coral Sea on Yankee Station in the Gulf of Tonkin (I'm a proud member of the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club)- the ship was waiting to recover aircraft launced for an airstrike against land targets earlier) and we were bored in the Receiver Room. We had an R-390 receiver - one of my fellow radiomen -- just for the heck of it -- was able to tune in and catch KFRC 610 AM San Francisco,
and it was the old Dee Jay Dave Diamond "Cookin........!" coming in
in loud and clear from San Francisco, 8,000 miles away. The atmospheric "props" were good that night, because it never happened again. Thought you'd enjoy that. I still remember the song we piped throughout the receiver/transmitter/crypto rooms that was playing .... "Tighter and Tighter" by a group called "Alive and Kicking". That was a whole lifetime ago. Thought you'd enjoy this.

Leo

This is one of those days when money slips through your fingers in no time at all unless you're very vigilant about your spending habits. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to stop yourself splashing out whenever the fancy takes you, whether or not you can afford it.
