Wrong Way Driver Kills 2

Alphonse Chimera lived on West Henrietta Road, not far from the site of the accident. His father said he was bad with directions and speculated he may have turned the wrong way on I-390 by mistake while following his GPS.

The sheriff’s office is still investigating the crash, including a toxicology report. Russell Chimera said his son never drank alcohol.

S?N: That's interesting. I've heard of GPS giving wrong directions. But to travel via car and NOT know where you're going in your surroundings is mind boggling. I would have guessed alcohol played a role.

A couple of those on ramps are right next to the exit ramp.

And yes, I purposely yelled. No excuse for driving down a wrong way expressway/highway in a familiar area, Unless you're DRUNK or distracted.

Driving is a major responsiblity. There are millions of cars on our roads and we must drive carefully. Looking out for ourselves as well as the other driver is part of it. I've avoided MANY accidents due to paying attention.

In downtown Rochester there are numerous ONE way streets. I've witnessed several out of towners drive the wrong way. People just watch like prarie dogs instead of honking or flagging the driver down to alert them. I guess a lesson here is NOT to always depend on a GPS system.

A lot of times you've been proven wrong on facts once they come out then you either twist it around like a child or abandon the thread altogether. Grow up.

He wasn't following his GPS. That's complete bullshit. He was probably getting a knobber from his passenger. Those GPS units go bananas if you're a few feet off your path.

Motorcycles,usualy weave and stunt on the highway, and they pass cars at two to three times the speed of the cars.

I know it was 1 am on a Sat., and we all know what drivers are doing on the road at that time, but the motorcycle must have been moving pretty fast to kill the guy in the car.

Was he riding with a pack of motorcycles? Where did they all go? Did any of them wait to talk to police?

What were the estimated speeds, and where were the two drivers coming from/ headed to at 1 am?

I seem to remember another fatal wrong-way crash along this stretch just a few short years ago.
The woman had just left work at a local restaurant.
I used to work with Al on nights, he might have had his problems but he was sober. I feel just awful for the families of both victims.

There is or was pictures of him on his fb of him with 2 girls at a bar.
I find it hard to believe someone would say he doesn't drink.
