It is a sad day that the state Legislature, after 16 years, has decided to eliminate the dedicated Long Island Sound fund created and nourished by the sale of "Preserve the Sound" Connecticut license plates.

Would it be too much to ask that, if it's LONG ISLAND Sound, why doesn't Long Island do more to preserve it? We never hear ANYTHING about attempts on the OTHER side of the water.
