Why have we not heard/read anything about the driver of the truck???? It's been 5months with no word,no name and no police report!
Is anyone aside from me outraged??? Why hasn't he come forward??? Supposedly there are only two people who know EXACTLY what happened that night and one is gone. |

I would never be outraged at the driver. When someone gets hurt, people find it nearly impossible to put the fault on the person who was hurt. Often more times than not, others blame the wrong person-and cannot come to grips with the fact it could be poor judgment, and a TRUE accident. In my opinion, there is no need to blame anyone. Accidents happen, though tragic.
It could have been any of us from town. From what I was told from a school employee, he was going straight on Center Square with his young children in the back strapped into carseats. He struck her when she stepped in front of his truck (They said they thought she was on her phone?). He got out and tended to her, and the police said he was crying because he knew her. That was the report I heard the first day. Details became sketchy after that first day. His name may have been kept quiet because of where he lives. I think it is better for both families that his name was kept out of the papers. There is no need for a circus at either home. And of course there has to be a police report. Again, there is nothing more sad than losing a child and blaming others is just a short term band-aid. I have always felt badly for all parties involved (including the children in the truck). It will never bring her back, all we can do is pray her family finds peace and other kids/adults learn from this. It's a shame I still see people crossing in the median instead of the crosswalk. I wonder if they were asleep during all of this? |

Your comments are exactly what I'm upset about. "They said" "She said" "He said" The stories I've heard are...he swerved to avoid her. Another car before him swerved to avoid her. He moved his car, therefore the police couldn't determine how fast he was going? Was he driving on a suspended license? Was the driver given any kind of tests? Were his cell phone records checked? Could someone answer these questions for me? I can accept a TRUE accident but not without the TRUE FACTS. |
