My family had all our computer equipment stolen in Bridgeport ct. It was taken from our hotel room in downtown Bridgeport. We stayed in our room after noon and when the housekeeper came to the door we said we'd be leaving in 30 minutes for a while. she said it was too late for housekeeping. I called the desk and they told me the same thing. I told both that was fine-since we did not need house keeping. When we got back one bed was made-the other was not. Two hours later we left the hotel for dinner. we were gone for under 90 minutes. When we got back all the elecrronics were gone from the room. The people at the desk checked the keys and nobody had been in the room. But, then when we looked (with staff right there) at the door carefully, we saw that the door closes automatically but when it appears closed it is not locked. It takes another bang to get it to click locked. They say it is the hotel policy that when all doors close they lock securely but they saw that ours did not-something that would only be seen if you tried to open it--and saw you could--but if you just looked at the door it looked closed tight. Then when I showed them that this had to have been the case for a while (in contrast to their contention that they fix immediately) they said that rubbed place was where a clip should have been that ensured a secure lock. Inside job? Gone less than 90 minutes and some robber could find the one door that looked closed but wasn't locked in a 8 story hotel (we were on floor 5). Then the IT person shows up video of suspicious people with backpacks and the manager says no video was found. Says IT person does not knwo what he is talking about? She did not know I had seen the video myself. Inside job? Let me knwo what you think.

2009"The service was quite good but of what value is it to a guest if it is an environment where his/her property is not safe? My Sony digital camera worth $300.00 was stolen by one of Holiday Inn Bridgeport's employees. So, I advise guests at Holiday Inn, Bridgeport with one eye open because there is, at least, one employee who is a thief and s/he will always "strike" at the least opportunity!"

My family really feel sorry for About. I hope that they make a police report, and complain to the owner of the Inn.
