1 So because there was one(1!!) accident you're not going to ride the monorail anymore? So I guess you don't fly, drive a car, ride a boat, or use a bicycle either? |

What makes this accident hard to understand is that these monorails are totally automated. No pun intended, but the system includes a dead-man system where if the operator takes his hand off of the throttle (automatically set at a pre-determined speed) the train will slow down and stop. Sorry, but i am currently working on a project in the Orlando area for my employer and have seen all the loacl news casts as well as have a friend that work for Disney.

1 At the maiden voyage of the monorail, the entire town has come out, including Leonard Nimoy. Lanley grabs his money and jumps in a taxi, which takes him to the airport. The monorail leaves just before Marge and Cobb arrive. At first things run smoothly, but the controls malfunction, causing the monorail to accelerate dangerously. Meanwhile, Lanley’s flight makes a brief unscheduled stop in North Haverbrook, where Lanley is immediately recognized and lynched by the locals. Back in Springfield, Cobb tells Homer that in order to stop the train, he needs to find an anchor. Homer grabs the giant "M" from the side of the Monorail and uses it as an anchor. Eventually, it latches onto a giant doughnut, stopping the monorail and saving its passengers. |

1 No one has ever "died" on Disney property. They always make sure that EMS responders pronounces death once the victim has left the property. They are very careful to make sure that "time of death" never happens on site. It's part of the wholesome image they protect so dearly. |

I'd be interested in some verification that is a true statement. where did you get your facts from? Please dont tell me someone told you, as that can not be considered fact. You may be correct, as Florida paramedics has the authority to pronounce someone deceased, unlike most states. i would just like more proof a statement like that is accurate is all i am saying. i hate spreading rumors. I actually think i remember someone dying on a roller coaster there a few years ago...if memory serves me well. |
||||
Here is some proof. I wanted to research the possibility myself. This article reads death being pronounced at the hospital. It's for the the accident you may be referring to. http://www.wesh.com/travelgetaways/4605206/de... Some links to similar articles show visitors "dying" at the hospitals. Such statements were made for Disney workers dying in accidents. |
||||
Hmmm? Ok, so what if they really diidnt diwe till they were either at the hospital or on the way?????? How can YOU prove where they actually died? |
||||
|
It's not my topic to prove.
I simply took the liberty to see if Mickey's statement had some merit and provided what I found so far, for Observer's sake. Do you see me drawing up a conspiracy somewhere? I could care less either way. While the deaths are a tragedy, I'll still visit Disney World, and ride the monorail when I'm there. |

So, how does Nevada's Democratic Senate Majority Leader's great plan to build his special Micky Mouse railroad from Dizzyland to Los Wages look now?
You can get elected by appealing to the people who have to keep talking and texting on those cell phones no matter what else they're doing - but, then, you have to trust those same people to drive those dangerous trains, planes, trucks and cars while talking and texting on those distracting cell phones. At some point the truth actually matters. Sometimes, that TRUTH arrives with a great crunching of metal on metal and dead bodies strewn all over the place. |
