Holy Cow. That's awful. WICC was the only local radio left and now it's just about gone. Dennis Miller? Who the hell wants to listen to that?

That station is gonna suck now. Brian Smith should do the morning show cause Tony Reno Stinks. He sounds like something you see on tv. Brian was the best thing that happened to the station. I'll follow him wherever he goes. Good luck Tim Quinn wherever you go.....Cumulus=poopyface!!!!!

Very sad to hear the news.....At least they have a good replacement for Tim Quinn...I have enjoyed listening to Mike Bellamy in the afternoons....I think he does a great job....But Tim will be missed.

This and many other stations have changed over the years. I remember listing to WICC and WNAB in the early 70's. What a shame what has been done to radio.

wasn't Mary Lee who was laid off at WEBE... it was Anne Rondepierre. Stinks.

That's so unfortunate. Tim Quinn is a big part of the regional radio landscape, and his political and election coverage was outstanding. WICC always killed its rivals in the ratings in no small part because we had local coverage. You can hear Dennis Miller anywhere on the dial or the Internet, but the local programming that made WICC ours is all but gone.

It's pretty sad when a legacy station is ripped to bits due to corporate fat cats cutting costs. Back when radio was really radio things were much better managed. This is why the FCC needs to do something about companies owning hundreds of stations. I hope Tim and the rest land on their feet and succeed in whatever they end up doing next. I really think all of us should write to Cumulus in Atlanta and let them know how we as listeners feel. I don't recall any layoffs back when WICC was owned by Tribute. Ah, those were the good old days!

I gave up on WICC a few years ago, WEBE is better. Sounds to me like they are about to bottom out.

This article is light on facts: "News Director Tim Quinn, news anchor Paul Pascelli, mid-afternoon show host David Smith, producer Mike Colby, and afternoon drive host Brian Smith…(and over at the FM side, morning show co-anchor Marylee and afternoon traffic anchor Anne Rondepierre) have become statistics in the economy." Jim Buchanan over Brian and David Smith????? Who wants to listen to Jim's whining? No traffic, no news no listeners!

Another poor management decision. Tim Quinn was an ICON in the news industry. His absence will even drop the radio stations revenue even more. Fools !!!

Someone forgot to tell Curt Hansen (who USED to be a great dj @ KC101 yrs back..)That ratings = revenue ! If he thinks that either stations ratings are gonna go up with this latest move to save money, he is soo terribly WRONG! Sorry to both stations, but you are headed into an even more dismal time by making the cuts that you have.. Broadcasting is a very volitile industry, where having good ratings is key, so I am sry to see some of the best iin local radio go, but now it appears it wont be long be fore WICC get the plug pulled, and WEBE wont be far behind...

WOW, Good luck. Tim was a staple in our home for those 36 years. Hearing his voice every morning was a good wake up call. However, on the bright side Tim and Martha can enjoy the best life can offer them. Maybe Martha will retire, and they write childrens book together. As for the rest, Brian will land on his feet, and David could go back to channel 12. That blonde bimbo Heather could be put to pasture. I would love to see David back. Good luck to all of you. Whatever happened to Becky Soucup? She disappeared before LaBacca. Local radio is now silent.....

Tim Quinn was old and worn. He was a biased radio talk show host and loved to kiss butt. He played the buffer between the callers and his guest. If HE didn't like the questions he'd cut you off. WICC has to get modern and with the current times and report all the news. About time!!!

Cumulus is another scum bag corporation....I have been a listener of WICC since my childhood and am disgusted by the way Cumulus as turned a freindly neighborhood radio station into a boring venue for Facist talk radio.
