This is becoming a really serious issue and these are not strays. We have taken in two strays, and paid vet bills to save a pregnant ones life. She has turned out to be a great dog, that being said so that all know we do care for animals. However, people when they CHOOSE to take on a pet of any kind should know as an adult that there are certain responsibilities that go along with pet ownership. Your freedom to swing your fist ends where my nose begins, and when you allow your pet to run at will and it being a pup destroys other peoples property, which is not its fault one bit,it is a dog afterall, you should be held accountable, especially when not only have we but the police asked you to keep it on your land. Please spare us anyone with any comments to shoot the things,we have no desire to harm the creatures,BUT this is beginning to get rediculous and I suggest the city begin issuing Dog At Large citations,or better yet that and impound them and charge the owners a fee to get them back. A few times of dipping into your wallet just might get the message across. Noone is trying to be unreasonable, but come on now,you would not like it if one of mine were to come and destroy things that you worked to put together.

Im a dog lover, There arent any that mess up my property but they do get in my trash sometimes. I cant get mad at them because they are prob just hungry. There isnt a lease law because you will need a dog catcher and truck, and impound and that means even putting the animals down, that would cost alot of money. The only time Id harm another animal is if it were going to harm my family. I guess you could try small claims court, but in the end it would cost you more money and maybe even the animals life.

Why should I suffer from my neighbors stupidity and laziness? I say shoot the animal(which is humane compared to posioning) and call the owner to come and clean it up! Some people take these animal rights BS to the extreme. Now I am a animal lover, but I have no pity on those who just allow their animal to roam free destroying others property and garbage, nor do I have pity for the "animal rights activiist! I've had to clean up enough of my neighbors dogs messes, not gonna do it anymore!

Let's not forget CATS... My neighbor takes in EVERY stray cat in town and gives it a home! They tear out your garbage, rip up your insulation and crawl all over your car. Is there a CAT law by any chance???? I have nothing personal against cats, I just don't like them destroying my property either! We need a chinese restaurant in town so all of our problems will be solved! LOL

It is sickening to read the hateful things some of ou write on here, and you get on here and write it just to stir things up and start trouble, why? Are you that miserable and sorry that you have to take to a webpage and incite violence and killing to get our kicks? If that makes you feel better you must be a really small person inside. But you will answer for this one day, God cares for ALL creatures great and small.

I'm not for killing them but the police should stand behind the taxpayers and issue citations to the owners that allow there pets to roam free. Dogs are like children, they need guidance from humans. They also need food and water everyday. If they can't get it from the owner they will search for it. So lets not kill the animals just make the owners pay for allowing this to happen.

I do not have the money to get them shots, or basically for the upkeep for them, yet I don't have the heart to put a bullet in their head either. Yep, I agree they are like unwanted kids. And I have fed them when no one else wanted them. And they turned out to be good dogs. If I could've found them a good home, I would've, but no one wanted them. So I keep feeding them and they keep loving me. What if Jesus came back as a dog??? Hmmm... shoot him? chain him up? put him in a pen? Let's just pray someday dogs don't rule over humans! LOL they'd have most of you neutered, declawed, teeth desharpened, and then they'd put you on a chain to stare at the other humans running around the neighborhood taunting you!

As for citations, Bridgeport City better have a good lawyer. They don't have the means for dog-catching. They can't even keep the streets up, or anything else, so I think they need to work on other important interests before they start playing dog-catcher! How bout the cops try to catch CRIMINALS before they pursue their careers in animal control?

The police does fine around here with what they have to work with,,lol,,a good lawyer to write citations...I don't think it works like that bud,,if I'm not mistaken I would say you would need a good lawyer...I think the streets are jus fine,,wheres the problem with the streets,,don't they get you from point A to point B....sounds like you jus like to yap bout stuff that really amounts to NOTHING...criminals are being put in jail, jus what kinda intel do you have on the matter,,obviously none because you have no clue about what the police is doing, other than not writing someone a citation about a stuppid dog,,,the city does have a leash ordinance,,if you wrote citations regarding it,,you'd end up writing the 90% of the city cause hardly no one abides by it...

The streets are not fine, they are rough & due to flippin potholes, I get to have my car re-aligned. Do you actually LEAVE your house & go anywhere in Bridgeport? or just sit at home & run your gums behind a screen? I do however agree with you on the dog situation & citations, I think they have much more important business to take care of than to play dogcatcher!
