why is bridgeport little league so bad?

People wander why are kids don't play much when they get to north Jackson. I say that it all starts with the little league programs. Why don't we have more people involved that cares. And for some idiots yes I do my part. But we are still bad... It has to start at the top of these programs.

I think stevenson has a good program. But, that's my opinion.. I AM NOT SAYING bridgeport is bad.

True. If you have a problem with bridgeport at least stay in the community and go to stevenson. They don't play each other anymore and since they combined to make NJ there shouldn't be a problem with it. They welcomed my son and he absolutely loves it. Plus when he goes to NJ he will have friends from both schools.

I Thnk they should change who runs the programs here. It's to much daddy ball here in bport..

Maybe if we had more support from our city, and parents then we could improve the program. People are trying to improve it, but lack of facilities, and no support is hindering the progress. False promises have been made by the city, in regards to the fields, and now her we are two or threes years later and still nothing, and parents taking their children to other leagues, and letting differences with other adults come into play when it should be all about the children learning how to play the game and having fun. If we will work together we can overcome these things and make our little league better, and as for my two they will be playing for Bridgeport. GO TIGERS!!!

I don't know what Daddy Ball is but I do know that when kids play n sports, that the patents takes their child's interest very seriously. As it should b. Problem is it usually going against the other players n coaches. It has 2 b a team. When it's broken n2 just each player there can b no unity.
Sorry this may not b what y'all r talking about, but I did serve a year @ Stevenson as president of Little league football years ago n I loved the kids but will never b a president again. Not because it's a bad program just I could not make everyone happy. Each decision voted on made someone else mad. N I got calls every day. So it was a catch 22.

My daughter played softball for Bridgeport a few years back ( 4 yrs ago ) and I was ashamed at the way the parents from BP acted in the stands,I went and watched from my car.I played all sports at Bridgeport and am as big a Tiger as any of you but some of the parents here are low/no class. Just call em like I see em !! This was really bad when we played Stevenson.

As an old worn out Daddy,who raised two sons on Hockey,I can tell you that although I could care less about ANY sport,most parents are a trip.
The whole point is for the younguns to LEARN sportmanship,comaraderie,compa nionship,loyalty,faith,trust,p ride,and MOST of all to have FUN!
Too many parents are more concerned reliving thier lost dreamns of making it to the pros and shoving it down their little ones throats,expecting more from them then they are physically and mentally capable of doing,yet they wanting to make their parents proud sometimes go above and beyond,resulting sometimes in serious injuries.
WAKE UP Morons,THEY are only little for a little while,enjoy them for as long as you can,for as Charlie Daniels sings in,"Little Folks",so soon they fly away.
These times when you struggle with work,bills,and trying to hustle them off to a game or practice,seem like so much,but trust me,some day you will reach a day,when you will sit and WISH for those days to be back.
Yeah I agree with the Daddy ball,fo sho,but Life is not fair,thats something you have to pay to ride a bus,deal with it,make the best of whatever situation for you and yours, and Hug and love them,because you never know when one day you might get a phone call from a pediatrician telling you that yours has lukemia,and soon after,so very,very soon,you have to bury that child,and be left with only memories of the times you used to gripe about.
Just my opinion,but hopefully some of you just might wake up and smell the coffee.

Who is the baseball and t ball and other age groups about? A few selfish childish coaches or the boys. Before you speak in front of a team, think what kind of reaction is this going to make on my son or daughter. If you are not the coach of a team and haven't been asked to help on the field someway.....Keep your butt in the bleachers an don't yell anything at anyones child that you wouldnt want yelled at your child. THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!!!! THATS WHAT I'S ALL ABOUT.

Bport beat Sson in baseball last year, football during scrimmages and basketball.. besides, Stevenson kids are so far behind in Math, Science, History and English by the time they get to NJHS.. which is more important, your kids future as an ADULT or their lil league/mid school sports days.. THINK ABOUT THAT...

The scrimmage football game 11 and 12yr Stevenson won....that being said, I think Bridgeport has good little league program. My children play in Stevenson and there is Daddy ball everywhere you go. I just teach my children that you are not going to like every coach, you just have to learn life is not fair and move on. If Stevenson didn't have my kids age group I wouldn't think twice about letting them play in Bridgeport. They are all going to be CHIEFS anyway. I don't know about the academics but if you look, I would say there are as many Stevenson kids in Beta club as Bridgeport at NJ. I know Stevenson Middle really pushes academics. From personal experience, I don't see where Bridgeport kids are ahead of Stevenson kids. Academics are the most important thing in my house, if you don't have the grades you don't play sports.

I hate to break it to you but Stevenson scores are higher than bridgeport. Not by much but they are indeed higher. I'm trying to post them on here for you but it won't. You can go to the jackson county board & they are for the public to read. I thot this topic was about sports?

if your a Stevenson teacher why aren't you teaching and not on topics during a school day...

I have actually had the pleasure of deciding between students from NJHS, SPHS and RHMS getting scholarships from our Scholarship Fund via my employer.. The kids that went to BMS and RHMS make higher on college entrance exams and also have higher GPA's than the SMS/SPHS students. Maybe it's because RHMS/BMS have fewer student to teacher ratio, but if I ever have a child going to school, those two places would be my choices.
