Sure, while we're at it lets legalize meth, murder, and stealing, it all the same dang thing! |
Judged: 1 1 No really it isn't. A good toke is a lot cleaner and takes the edge off quicker than drinking. Meth takes a quick toll on the body and of course stealing and murder have nothing to do with smoking marijuana. We don't want to legalize those things that hurt or kill us. Marijuana, kept under control and aside from medicinal purposes, does have its place in society. I would like to see it legalized and I've got about 60 acres I'd plant right away. |

Judged: 1 1 Why do we even have to drink or smoke? This is for weak people who can't handle the realities of life. You missed the point. It is all wrong! If you legalize drugs then you only ask for theft and murder as a consequence. Great! Keep drugs illegal. How do we keep it under control? It can't be controlled now with laws against it. Aside from medicinal purposes it has no place in society. The same could be said about theft, meth, and murder! LOL! With all the pot heads in the world your "drug field" would yeild about one toke for you yourself, because every high school kid, and druggie around would rob your drug field while you sleep! You dopers really kill me with your rants and ideas. |

It blows my mind that you would have such a view on Marijuana in general. Of all the things listed, it above all of them, is only a plant. Just a plant. No chemicals have been used to prepare or cultivate it, nothing beyond cutting and drying and yet you're still classing it in there with Meth and murder.(Murder? Seriously? What the hell are you smoking?) Personally, I'm for full legalization of all drugs. Sure, there's going to be some deaths, and problems that arise from this, but the same can be said about alcohol if the legal age to imbibe is lowered to 18. It's Darwin's studies in motion. The strong realize that they are poisoning their bodies and, maturely, moderate their intakes accordingly, and the others either get with the reality or kill themselves. As cold as this may sound, good riddance.
We are a sheltered nation that remains apathetic on the best of times, only really paying good hard attention when blood is drawn or our creature comforts are taken away from us, where we then whine like newborns until whatever was lost is dusted off and handed back to us to shut us up. I won't say I agree with you at all Bud, but I do support your right to say it. Regardless of how much I may disagree with any of it, my own view on the matter is that Marijuana, of all things, is hardly worth our time and effort to debate about. It's a plant. It grows naturally. It's got so many uses BEYOND enjoying the narcotic effects that it's more Pride and Ignorance keeping it in it's current Grey area status for so long. |

Judged: 1 That is because it is up there with meth and murder, and yes it is just a plant, so is poison ivey! try smoking that! And you are a part of the problem not the solution! Problem with your idea is this. You have a dope head run over and kill someone, the that is where vigelante justice comes in, some of the deceased persons family will go after the dope head and anyone that stands in the way, and I really would not blame them! How would you enforce this? As said before the cops have enough on them as it is! Darwin Sucks! You have to be athiest, atheist suck too! Right!!!Just kep telling yourself this! Typical rant! So does every other liberal! What makes you any different? Again try some poison ivey! Like I stated before you dopers are weak, simple minded simpltons that have to resort to dope to escape a real world. Who needs to be high? All drugs should remail illegal with the exception of what a doctor prescribes to people who need the medication, anything outside of that need to stay illegal! |
Judged: 1 Sounds to me like bud is trying to say "because you don't agree with me, you're stupid and wrong" It's been legal but highly regulated in places like Amsterdam and parts of Canada for years and those areas aren't exactly known for their crime/murder rates being high. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Anyone who does drugs are stupid, and I don't care who agrees with me or disagrees! Ok oh wise one, how is it regulated? If it is so great, I have a great suggestion for you, move there and smoke dope until your little heat is content! Heck, I might even consider buying you a one way ticket there! |
So now you want to get rid of all the people who don't share your opinion on this matter! What a narrow minded way of solving problems. It is only sold in shops and cafe's in the aforementioned areas and people are carded just like for alcohol consumption. It's not like anyone can sell a bag on the corner. |
I think all of the drug have fried your brain. What do we do then about the druggies driving from these cafe's under the influence of this drug and run over and kill your child? I might work if the druggie has to stay at this cafe until the drug is completely out of their system....Like 30 days! How will we enforce this? Since all a druggies proclaim the war on drugs is a failure. |
It's called getting a business license, kinda like an alcohol license. Have you never heard of a taxi or bus or heaven forbid, walking? Not everyone that partakes does it to get obliterated. Some of us just like to let our hair down a little and get loose. Kind of like the concept of social drinking, you know, having a couple of drinks while watching a game or with dinner. But I guess that concept escapes you. |
That will not work either, everyone and their brother will be growing it themselves like they do now! Again how would we do this? How about thinking logocal on your next answer. Whaen was the last time you seen a taxi or bus in Bridgeport, or Stevenson? Who would be responsible to provode these services? If you are walking on a public roadway (ie. sidewalks) then that means public intoxication, so this legalizing drugs will be in vain. Do what you like but I would perfer you not even be around me while under the influence of the stuff! No, I don't know, because I don't drink, nor do I allow it around my family! I know how damaging drugs can be, and there are no positive effects from smoking dope! |

Sadly bud, your responses are as typical as any 'dopers' that you so readily put down to build up your own opinion on the matter, for that's what all of this really is. Just opinions. Do you see alcohol the same way you see marijuana? Because the scientific Fact about that substance is that it is far more harmful than Marijuana.
Smoke poison ivy? That sorta sounded like you pulled that out of your ass. Who would smoke poison ivy? There are no benefits to smoking it, or even coming in contact with it, short of maybe some adolescent boyscout prank. Hell, you speak on the matters of Pharmaceuticals as if they are the philosopher's stone. What about how a good 70%+ of all the meds that I see come out today have side effects worse than the actual illness they 'treat'? I have to head out for a few, but I'll be back to debate with you. |
Yes I do! Both slow down motor skills disabling a person to have normal response. Show me an non-liberal scientific fact, or did you expect that I would take your word for it? Remember it is a natural growing plant.....It couldn't hurt....Or could it? Nah...just making a point here, apparently you didn't like of get! SHow us the 70%, we here are grown ups, tell us o wises one! Stats please! Debate all you want, you will not be able to change my opinion! |
True enough. So you're a purist then? You won't do any drugs nor let your family be around anything that intoxicates, etc? Do you allow them (and yourself) to drink coffee or soda or take meds that have been prescribed? This is the net. I don't expect you to do anything.:) http://www.cdc.gov/healthyyouth/alcoholdrug/i... - Do you consider the CDC liberal? So it is. Feel free to go out and smoke some and then go smoke some Marijuana and see which one you prefer. I didn't get that last bit. That I've seen? That's a personal experience and cannot be shared. You'll note that I said 'I've seen'. I'm sure you've seen the commercials I'm talking about though. They talk about all the wonderful effects of the medication, and then go on to mention things such as 'anal leakage', vomiting, and to speak to your doctor if you have any sudden increased 'urges to gamble'. How can a leading pharmaceutical company having the information that something makes you want to take unnecessary risks be anything but bad? How hard would it be to key in on that chemical reaction and exploit it? They already have the money, and we're already an addicted nation. There's a pill for everything. The vicious cycle is evident in the pharmaceutical world anyway. One pill is to get better, another to get better from previous pill, and one to counter act the previous two. Personally I think it would be healthy for America to legalize Marijuana. More people would take up gardening, there would be a new legal alternative to making biofuel, paper, cloth, and other useful items. Not only are the seeds nutritionally good for you, the positive effects I've seen that the plant has when imbibed by people with post traumatic stress disorder and depression is quite amazing as well. I don't deny that the pharmaceuticals don't have a place in the world, but if we already have safer, herbal, alternatives, what is the harm in allowing it? Like assisted suicide. lol I don't want to change your opinion. It's yours. I wouldn't try to change it if I could. I respect your beliefs and opinions, just as I try to do the same for everyone else. I enjoy meeting opinionated people online. It amuses me. |

We stay from alcohol, and drugs that are not prescribed. Coffee is not an intoxicant! Actually, Yes I do! Sorry, I don't even smoke! That I didn't expect you to get. And what does this prove? we see the consequences of drug use every day, and it is not good. Speak for yourself. How? do you not look ahead to the consequences that stem from it? You continue to dance around the truths, there will be in increase in accidents, murders, rapes, child molestations, you have a serious mental problem if you think this is not going to happen! This is complete BS! Like I stated before it is for weak people who can not deal with reality, they have to get high and go to lala land to escape reality! I have already stated there will be caos when we allow a person to drive around high, then run over and kill people, that person that dies will have a family member that will decide that they are going to deal with the doper themself probably resulting in another death, then the that couls set off a chain reaction of murders, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure this out! Now when this happens, What have we accomplished? Nothing! You might think this is funny but I and many others don't. Then what is your point in a debate? |
Still intoxicants that can harm your body. And yes, coffee is an intoxicant. It's a stimulant. Caffeine. We also see the problems that neglecting a problem can bring. Over crowding in prisons for non-violent drug related crimes is a good one. Where we should treat the problem, we simply put a bandage on it and try to ignore it. Not all drugs are as bad as you make them out to be. It's all choice. And it's not your choice to make for everyone else in the world, not even your own children once they reach the age to make their own decision on the matter.
You honestly think drugs are the main cause of all of those? You are surely a moron if that is the case. I don't see how legalizing marijuana will increase child molestations, much less increase rapes or murders. Accidents happen, regardless of substance abuse or not. Even you know this to be true. Funny. It's not the case that I've seen personally. We have this problem with Alcohol already. And I don't forsee the 'chaos' you mention. I do think there'll be a surge in Road Safety commercials, not to mention new classes in schools to educate children on safe behavior near streets. It all begins with educating yourself and those around you. Parts of Europe have had much lower drinking laws than ours for many years and there are fewer accidents. Want to know why? In Germany they take your license on the first offense and slap you with some steep fines. If we apply the same laws to our own system upon legalization, I doubt you have to worry about 'chaos'. And? I support assisted suicide. If the person is in enough pain that they would rather end their own life, then let them have the dignity to die on their own terms if they cannot live on them. Normally at the end of a sentence. |

The same can be said for the people smoking Prescribed Marijuana. ;)
And I agree with you on the xanax bit. It's never fun to be around someone doing the xanax shuffle. |
