Because in the end, topix won't be at the school taking up for your child. Lol at you!! They both make good points.. I think. No one should be threatening about anything on here! I missed that, I guess. For me.. This is a good "discussion" between citizens, parents, teachers? ADULTS of Bport! I don't call any of this "Gossip" In the beginning and end we as parents are handling business with school officials.:)

According to my son he gets bullied and pushed around when he tells the coach nothing is done and my son tells me that he tells him "o you will be fine". More moms need to stand up for their kids. My son will not be bullied or pushed around!!! I would really like to know who you are.. If you want to be anonymous, email me: cprice0747@gmail.com & tell me :)

But there are a few in every school that Tolerate it. Not many, I would think, but if there is only one school official in any school that "tolerates" it.. There is a HUGE problem for alot of children. That's for years & years on the past & years to come!!.. Unless.........:

You don't want other children going thru what your child did. Sorry you felt all you could do was move your child out of school.. Really, no one should have to do that! I plan on STANDING UP!! Try to be a better example for our kids, ya know.:)

Immediately!! He does NOT TOLERATE any negative behavior! He will do his best to take care of ANY situation!! He does right & does it well in my opinion. But, he's only one person.. Can't be everywhere, see it all.. all the time. Ya know :)

Teacher wrote: What you do not see is what a teacher does! Your child more than likely is doing the bullying & when another child stands up for their self it makes the bully mad. So, then the bully comes to tattle on the other child! Believe me when I say, 9 times out of 10, this is the situation. Plus children need to try to work out their problems instead of snitching or running away from them. The teachers see all and know all! Its not over looked but depending on the situation it is handled correctly! However, if anyone has a problem they need to schedule a parent/teacher conference. It is highly encouraged by everyone if you feel the need to do so. Sure I misunderstood what I read from you.. Children do need to stand up for themselves but there ARE situations where the child may not be able!! And being you see it all and know it all.. I guess the bullied are the actually the bullies??? What? I agree a teacher has a lot to deal with & do & one can't see, know, control, everything with all these children.. That's impossible. You are probably right with your 9 times outta 10. But it's that ONE that is does not need to be overlooked as "Just one of those things.. Or.. It's just part of growing up" & swept under a rug!! Parent teacher conference.. Yeah, believe all parents would be right on that :)

Oh bullying happens. All the time. No one will use the paddle any more. That always stopped it when I was in school.

Normally,I find those with a college education clueless with the ways of the real world, however Teachers response is right on target. I have personally watched the staff and they are on the ball, and in the majority of situations it is better to let the kids come to a middle ground, without intervention, which can result in something trivial escalating into an inferno. Kids have been dealing with this since the beginning of time and all of the touchy feely tree hugging, isn't going to stop it,and I don't like anymore than anyone else,(And yes by the way,I endured it as a kid),but it is an integral part of growing up and preparation for the real world, which like it or not as much as we hate to,eventually we have no choice but to sit back and wat ch them go out into.

My children have been bullied the whole time they have been in Bport schools. I have talked to the principal and had several meetings with Harding. It does not help. Just some FYI it isn't any better at North Jackson either. I have now told my kids if they pick on you or put their hands on you, you have my permission to defend yourself. If you know what I mean.

LOCAL wrote: <quoted text> NO thats isnt how it is 9 out of 10 times. And you let someones kid pick on my kid. I am not going to be at school. I will be knocking on some parents door. BECAUSE NO ONE WILL BULLY MY CHILD!! and its teachers like you and the way you think that causes kids to think they have no other choice but to KILL their selfs. I think if there is an issue between two kids... all parents should be called in to a meeting so that they can really get to the end of it. Half the time the school doesnt tell the parents everything that happens. THIS IS WHY I LIVE IN BRIDGEPORT BUT MY KIDS DO NOT GO TO THEIR SCHOOLS. If someone picks on your kid you'll go to their parents house? You realize this is part of growing up right? That should only be done in very serious cases. Kids have to learn how to handle themselves in life. Life is a hard thing to go through. Now we are trying to make kids believe that they have the right to never be offended and no one is ever going to bully them around. If my kid got bullied and it wasn't nothing too serious I'd be happy they were going through the learning experience! Kids who kill themselves from being bullied usually are having serious problems with that and other things. That should be able to be picked up on by the parents. Usually that is not the normal bullying. Even in those extreme cases, they must learn how to cope with life. This is what growing up is about! No one wants their kid hurt these days. Some schools don't allow football at recess anymore. Not even tag football. Tag itself was banned in california. Because the parents complained that they didn't want their kid to be, "it." Well sometimes in life you have to be, "it!"
