Well it seems that Barney Fyffe has been replaced by Robert Kirk

I talked to Charlie over the weekend he is very happy were he is.He dont miss bridgeport or the police department.

Joe is stupid All he knows how to do is run after young girls.

You never know, Charlie may come back. Just because he is happy where he is now does not mean that later on he may want to be at home again. He probably never wouldn't have left if Bubba would have left him alone and let him run his department! Same reason Joe didn't want to do anything there, they won't let you run things the way they should be ran. Robert will find out soon enough, but then again he us probably going to be one of these ass kissing employees and do what they say instead if what he knows is right

We have known Robert Kirk a very long time. He is a good man , very respectful and dependable I hope he does a good job for the city of Bridgeport. At this point any change would be an improvment, its time that our Police Dept it not considered a joke of Jackson County like it has been for the past several years . Congratulations Robert , good luck and know some may be against you , but remember some are for you.

I agree Hollywood Robert is a good cop and also a honest one he is always treated people fair and right I think he will be a very good cheif if the people in higher offices will give him the support he needs. Congrats Kirk

Respectful? He is a pervert, alcoholic, and liar! Y'all will see just how much he knows about the law. Geri you never know he may be one of those guys that gets his law degree behind the jail house bars. That's where he is going to end up after he kills someone while driving drunk. Mark my words, he will have to come out one night, on the job, and I bet money that he will have been drinking! Lets see how the city can handle that law suit waiting to happen!

Bunch was the best police chief Bridgeport ever had,he worked well with the public,worked well with and supported his police officers..you could ask any one of the guys that worked under him,if they were in the right and was doing their job he stood behind them 100%...He got them several new police cars,new equipment.....For his age he did an outstanding job,you rarely see police chiefs at the age he was,I had heard that he went into the military,it's sad that this town can't keep good qualified people in those positions...Robert kirk is not...

I thought the Cheif had to live in Bridgeport?

It's very obvious that this little town needs some true guidance and leadership from the higher authority,meaning,IE,starting with the mayor and city council,the mayor,who is the biggest anti police person any way....He will tell the police to not write any tickets,not to put home town people in jail,then when something is said he looks at them and says"I didn't tell you to not write tickets,I didn't tell you to not put that person in jail" He tells those guys to go write tickets on the four lane,don't write tickets in town,I believe you need to start in your own back yard and start making your own citizens abide by the law,all this states is"do what ever you want,the police will do nothing but turn their heads,and if they don't ,don't worry I will handle it"....personally,my opinion, I don't think Kirk is the man for the job....They need a person that will take a stand for what is right,and not back down,not a yes man...You wait and see if he doesn't turn into just that....

Kirk is just Acting Chief! Charlie is still chief! While he is away someone have to slide in that chief spot! So what is the big deal. Unless Charlie has quit.

from most post it has become clear what the town thinks of its police force. so compare it with all other local police forces. you will find we have a as good as any ones here.
basically most think we dont need the police here, well the day will come when you need what we have, then what will you do, again what will you do ? i enjoy living in this small town its nice and quiet, most people i know here are some of the best salt of the earth types. we can not ask for a better place to live, in reality we are secluded from the violence the bigger citys have, this is a Godsend.
i support what we have, in the who would you vote thread i think its clear i think we have the best in the postions of public service. if not then where are the good qualified people at ? oh yes i see you have not applied your self for the office of police force.

You are not very bright! First off, Robert STARTED OFF as a dispatcher later promoted to patrol officer with Stevenson in the early 1980's and was promoted to Sgt. over patrol. he quit Stevenson in the 1990's to take a job with Beaulieu as a security officer which he later became supervisor over the security there! He came up for retirement and went back into law enforcement, he has not went from being a security to auxilary, to chief like you say! You need to get your facts straight before you have diarrhea of the mouth again! Robert is very qualified for the Bridgeport Police Chief's posotion!

Robert Kirk is a freaking drunk,I see him at the beverage barn in Stevenson buying alcohol all the time!! His ass is gonna run some one over one day, you know he has to get called out at night,what's gonna happen when he gets a big fat DUI....I don't see where he's all that quallified my self,security guard and police work are two different creatures,I mean what does a security guard do,nothing....Police officer has to have a way more complicated job,I don't really see your point on wanting to educate someone....just face it,Bridgeport sucks,and we won't never have any better than whats here now...such a sad ordeal...I thought Joe was doing great....oh well on the other hand,drink one for me Kirk...LMAO.....
