I am from central WV.My fathers family migrated here from the Briceville/Lake City area.My great grandfathers name was General Jason Isabell.He is apparently buried at Coal Creek cemetary in that area.I hear there are several Isabells left in the area.There are at least 3 variations in the spelling,Isabell,Isabelle and Isbell.Somebody down there talk to me and fill me in,as I am probably related to you.Also,my great grandmother was a Lindsay from there,my great uncle was Clyde Lindsay.Any response is appreciated.

Thanks for responding.My father was Dayne Isabell,son of Virgil and Edna Mae (Lindsay) Isabell.He had brother,Wallace and 1 sister,Mildred.They moved here to WV in app.1943.

By the way,I have the memorial/funeral book from General Jason Isabell's service.Don't ask me how I ended up with it ???? Anyway,I am certain that I saw Curtis Isabell written in it and possibly a person by the name of Fritts also.I will try and find the book and verify.G J was my great grandfather.Are you a fan of UM football? If so,we have more than one thing to talk about.What do you think of your new coach?

J C Fritts.I talked to my aunt Mildred,she is in her eighties but still pretty sharp.She said that General Jason and Curtis were brothers,that Curtis was her great uncle.She said Curtis' wife was named Idelle,and Jasons wife was Matilda.She also mentioned a Jim Fritts.Does any of that ring a bell to you? It looks like you and I are distant cousins somewhere along the line.

My father's name was Jim Fritts and Curtis and Ida isabell were my mother's partens.We have quit a bit of information on the Isabell's Our granddaughters go to the Uof Michigan.on goes for engering and the other starts in Sept. she is going for medinece.they are called barbies with brains. one like football and the other does not. the youngest is going with her uncle to the first game of the year. if you can make some copies of his book we would be very grateful. I will let Tommy know. he and my wife are the ones into the family history.What is your name? not being noisy.

I will def. try to find that book,I will let you know on here as I am not to good at the e-mail stuff.My 14 year old son said he would help me set up an account so I could e-mail you.( I am at work right now lol).My name is Robert Isabell,but everybody knows me as Bob.I live in a very small town called Cowen WV,in Webster Co.almost smack in the middle of the state.

I was wrong about the cemetary,it is called Beech Grove cemetary located at Coal Creek.Thank goodness for aunt Midge.

hey Bob, Tommy said he has a picture of his father's sister holding June and your father when he was about eight. the brother Verly and Virgil your father. if you can send us information we wil send you the same. Tommy was in WV. right before your great aunt died and he gave them alot of information on the family.he has alot of information on the Harmons and Isabell and Fritts famlies.he has apicture of your grandpartens on the Lindesy familes.

Actually Virgil was my grandfather,my dad was Dayne.He passed away in 1987,Virg passed away about 2 years later.Virley,also known as "skinny" was my great uncle.I will get an e-mail account set up soon so we can exchange info.

Oh,I did find what is left of that memorial book from Jason's service.The names Mr and Mrs Curtis Isabell and Mr and Mrs.Jim/James Fritts are both in it,among several others.A page or two seems to be missing though.As for me being named after Robert.Who knows? Dad was probably celebrating with "spirits" and said ah hell,lets just call him Bob.You will find that most Isabells in this part of the country liked their "spirits".

Bob & his wife Johnny were nice people and a lot of kids who still live in and around Lake City.All of Curtis Isabell's children have died except the youngest her name is Geraldine and she lives in VA,where my brother Tommy lives.he has a address of a Lindesy still living in Cliton TN. he said to get your address and he can send you all the information you want on the family. i have to go and get ready to go to the dr. so take care and send more inf. on your side of the family
