el palenque is nothing but a cover up place to sell drugs.....the two gay owners are always scamming ppl one way or another....this is nothing but a cover up...el cora got shut down in february and then palenque opens up soon after...what a coincedence....these guys owe thousands in drug money...next time they are on the news it will be for a drug sting bigger than el cora!!!

Let me tell you what. First of all they knew long before the band wasn't coming before the first people walked in the door. They rented a limo so that concert goers would think the band was there. Manuel rented a motel room in hillard for two weeks in Hillard and he left long before it all went down. They continued to sell the tickets at the door that night until about 1:30am knowing the band wasn't coming. They allowed these people to spend their money on alcohol waiting for the band that was never coming. Manuel is currently being sued by four people and Javier is being sued by 3 and their company is being sued by 3. Javier just got busted for possession of drugs in January. CPD was doing special duty for awhile at special prices above what they normally do. A officer borrowed money from the owner. Alcohol has been in trying to shut them down for underage sells and they were never supposed to sell past 1 am. Michael Roberts was in it to his neck. He was there that night and also knew that the band was not coming and continued to represent the owner until after the news came. He was all for the $$$$$. He secured the liquer license for the night. He allowed the customers to keep drinking putting everyone at a increased risk when they were forced to leave. The customers did not riot when they were told the band wasn't coming because they were never told. Instead they called the police because one man got hit with a beer bottle and used that as a excuse to close the place down. No announcement was ever made. They were just told to leave. And who threw the mace it wasn't CPD it was the party house. CPD was waiting outside. The partygoers were throwing bottles and refused to leave so mace was thrown.

Oh yeah good luck getting a refund does anyone have reciepts because i don't think they gave anyone a receipt.

If you run any more articles on this situation, please make the community aware that El Palenque is just renting the front space of this building. There has been threats of retaliation against the building, where I also work.
El Palenque has been a poor tennant and we are working through the legal system to try to remove them. As it is, we are left with heavily damaged property
