More reasons why people are fleeing colemans cowtown. The morse rd corridor is a war zone. Get rid of 50 % of the rental propertys and watch the problems vanish

How crass...is that any way to speak of "another chalk outline on the sidewalk"

Actually, the population-growth rate in the Columbus area has remained fairly steady since 2000, averaging 1.17 percent per year.

1 Is that the Columbus metro area, or within the city limits? Need to pack to go into any side of town. North, South, East, West - they all suck. And you can't get downtown without going through them without a parachute. And they wonder why downtown is dead? Condolences to the family - I hope this was a "wrong place, wrong time" rather than being involved in some illicit activity. |

1 It has grown OUTSIDE of the CPS schol zone. In the CPS district it is Detroit the second! |

1 and crew ignoring the situation does nothing to solve the problem. It's time to change the leadership in Columbus people, because this mayor and City Council have no desire to reduce crime in Columbus, and believe me crime does affect the economic climate and well-being of the city. |

1 Where is the outrage? Just go kill a cat like that one stupid f'er did down in Hocking County and watch all of the outrage. Man murdered = 7 replies, cat killed = 500+ replies. |

2 Good point. I guess it's all about priorities. Precisely my point why we need new leadership across the board in Columbus. |

It's not the population number - it's the make-up of the population as families are leaving, and being replaced with less stable and financially secure people.
In short, taxpayers and people who stabilize neighborhoods are leaving, and being replaced by immigrants, young people, etc. |

Not the Ohio I remember growing up in. There were maybe 4 or 5 murders in a year in Columbus. Now it sounds as bad or worse than the places where one would expect this kind of thing. I used to play music at the Tamarack Inn in the 70's. It was a great place to work then, and a great part of town. Sorry to see all that's gone.

1 The second factor to this was the BROKEN deal over letting Northland Mall close. Once there was no real "anchor" for major business' in the Morse Rd corridor all the crap business's moved in..hell there are 2 pawn shops can across the street from each other and another a block away.....Which are nothing short of legalized fencers for stolen property. Its a shame that the city is spending so much on the Morse Rd area when the problem is deeper than the "cosmetic" facelift its getting. I am with the other poster that the city needs to crack down on the apartments that reside in that area with tough zone enforcements and fines to the owners of the properties in order to clean them up. |

I'm sure the above poster was not referring to the Somalians & Mexicans. |

I agree! And what about that heartless beotch who left her newborn for dead? No charges! Are you kidding me? |
