Review: Country Gunsmith

This guy is a grumpy old man who is loud and rude and chases people out of his shop. He is not licensed by Suffolk County. He is arrogant and a big mouth who doesn't know how to shut up and do his work. He is also VERY over priced.

Re: Grumpy? Couldn't disagree more. Nice guy. His prices are more than fair. Ammo is in fact, better priced than Walmart. He carries various access. and gear, more than you'd expect for a gunsmith. He is in fact a talented smith with the proper equipment(machine shop). Which is in short supply, here in lower NY. Plenty of dealers with rubber mallets and chisels on Long Island. He is not one of them. First time in his shop was for smith work. Great work. Was a friendly & knowledgeable gentleman. His outstanding rep. on the longislandfirearms.com forum is well earned.

Not in the least. He is a friendly and knowledgeable guy. His work has always been excellent. He has an outstanding reputation among the people who have used him, myself included.

i have use Bob to to check out my mosin nagant when I got it. He checked the headspace, clean the cosmoline off and charge me a fair price. I highly recommend him.

Grumpy? Overpriced? Not Bob. Outstanding work, personable and professional. Has routinely charged less than his estimate, saying "Don't worry about it"
I've seen him take time to explain stuff and never get flustered. He has fixed the hatchet work of others, and aside from shaking his head, he did it without complaint, at a reasonable fee.

Are you serious? He's a great guy - he fixed a Beretta shotgun for me that required a lot of tweaking (because I'm small ) and cut down 2 stocks on other guns to fit me perfectly.He fixed a dented rib on a used Remington I bought and you can't even tell where it was - he was VERY reasonable and spent a lot of time making sure that the guns fit me correctly. What you said in your comment couldn't be farther from the truth!!! I recommend him to all my shooter friends and they are all very satisfied. Souns to me like you are a competitor with a grudge - and anyone who has ever used Mr. Guinta will know that you're way off course. Quality workmanship speaks for itself and hid work is top of the line.

SEE MY RESPONSE:
Why is it that I STRONGLY SUSPECT this "Jim" is a competitor (or representing one)? Bob is the nicest guy, not in the least arrogant and is absolutely THE BEST (+++++)GUNSMITH on Long Island: I've dealt with a lot of them and some are total dodos.
Bob is unbelievably good. If anything he is UNDERPRICED. I've brought him guns that have been messed up by other gunsmiths (probably "Jim" or one of his friends)and he's always known exactly how to get them back into PERFECT condition....and less expensively that what it took some less talented gunsmith to mess them up.
On a quiet day, he might even offer you a cup of coffee.

Bob is the shit. I had him install an badger tactical bolt knob on my rem 700. Looks awesome and it was cheap. I also use him as an FFL when ordering online. Very nice guy, fair prices.

Came in with my father and had two .30-06 rifles cleaned and brought back from the dead. Nice work, scope and sling mounts put on well. Prices were great.

Because the fact that this is also a small gun store is great. I went in there looking for a range bolt action and there were 2-3 old timers in there willing to chatt with me about different options. They wouldent let me leave. Unless i get an amazing price on a rifle online, i will be buying from Bob.
