i got into a fight days ago and was arrested and charged with assault. Ive been enrolled in school taking early childhood education and Im afraid it is going to affect my future career. I would like to take anger management or something before my court date, but I dont know where there are any classes on long island

my entire family is being harrassed by my daughter-in-law. she called cps and they showed up here two days after she had my son arrested. Do I have to let these ignorant morons in my house for an inspection. it will no doubt be determined unfounded because i filed a police report right after i made her get off my property. Went through this years ago so I am not afraid, but off the charts mad.

Can you clear up your vague post. Why was your son arrested? Why did she show up at your house two days after having your son arrested? Was she living there and getting her belongings? Who are these ignorant morons you speak of? And what police report did you file?

I have a very interesting, recorded telephone conversation with valerie Zuckerman. You wouldn't believe some of the things she said. I also have many other recordings of CPS workers like Kim Sodergren & others that are equally disturbing.

I hired an independent attorney [Jordan Trager] and he just took over $4000 from us, and when we thought he was working for us [the grandparents] he was not.
The case dragged on for almost 3 years, during which time we travelled from NC to Suffolk County every week. They eventually terminated my daughter's parental rights as they say it will not be in the children's best interest to remove them from the foster parent who is now the adopted parent.
The eldest child Garrett who was diagnozed as mildly autistic has not been adopted and is being bounced around from foster home to foster home.

My ex-husband verbally,mentally and physically abuses our kids age 7 & 11 during visitation.
CPS was called by our family therapist reporting that my son had told her in a session that his father abused him. CPS never came to talk with my kids and does not return phone calls from the therapist or myself. I want to take him to court to ask for anger managment and parenting classes and maybe supervised visitation. A lawyer told me that I don't have enough evidence to show abuse except what my kids tell me and the therapist comments. I was told to have the therapist call CPS and make another report since the last one was ignored. I was also told to send a letter to Gregory Blass Commissioner of Social SVs to let him know that CPS ignored the call. A lawyer told me that I would be looked upon as bias because I am the mother and ex-wife. Could things get worse if I go to court? What do you think the court would do?

i have some useful information about cps and family treatment court. i have 3 children. I am also an addict. my oldest is 11 and youngest 4. my 11, and 6 year old are from first marriage and then i met someone and i had my four year old. I had custody of my children 70 percent of their lives. the past two years ive been struggling w/my sobreity.in 2007 i relapsed and my mother took thr baby and my ex took my other two..while I worked on myself...counseling meetings, church,..i got them all back(maybe too fast) we bought a beautiful home, I was making great money, the kids were doing great, i give them alot of love and attention and try my hardest to make sure they know mommy loves them. i was clean, but my four old's dad kept drinking. it started getting out of hand, but i wanted the relationship to work so bad that I kept trying. hes one of those guys that when hes clean hes so wonderful,u just cant belive what happens to him when hes high, so u keep on trying...unfortunately, i ended up breaking down, because i just couldnt make good decisions, i wasnt working a program..i lost it, i relapsed and i los my precious babies again. i lived w/so much guilt i couldnt get clean for 4 months after that. So now here I am. Ive been clean since march..i got rid of that jerk, and im working very hard on myself so i can be a great mom. but my point to this blog is..I joined Family treatment court in Central Ilsip, thinking that it would expedite the reunification...its been a nightmare, I cant please this court system no matter what i do, I go to treatment, have a great job, no dirty urines,go to meetings, try and see my children when theyll let me, and the case has just remained stagnant and everytime i go to court thry have nothing nice t say to me always finding something wring with character, the way i talk, my job. i feel trapped in this systrm and I want out of it. to all of u that arent doing thr right thing and need to straightrn out....do it its not worth thr heartache that ur kids and u and ur family goes through, the lost times is not worth a drink, or drug..children are so precious and trust me , i am missing out on so much because of bad choices,now im stuck in thr cps systrm.my biggest fear is that when i finaaly have my babies returened they will feel detached..god bless u all and keep up the fight..ur worth it

suppose mommy has run off with the child, is mentally unstable, does not comply with the court ordered visitation, moves to the city, does not comply with joint custody ruling pertaining to school and health records for our child,and then goes so far as to make a false allegation of abuse on the father's part(sexual) and you people go so far as to believe it? you say that you are impartial in public which is not true as has been confirmed to me by one of your fellow case workers in the not too distant past. he told me, and i will quote it that"our job is to really help the mother". if this is what is to be expected, why should i not believe that you people don't really care about my child's welfare but about your budget goals and bonuses? this is a message directed to the case worker.

I agree, it is time that all of us form a united front against DSS even if it is to form a protest group with placards in front of the Court House.

It is time that we as parents and grandparents force the powers that be to stand up and take notice of our plights.

It is time for us to expose these criminals and home wreckers for exactly what they are. Blogging about it won't force the change that is sorely needed.

IT IS ONLY WHEN WE STAND UP TO THEM WILL WE ACHIEVE THE CHANGE THAT IS NEEDED TO TO EXERCISE OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHTS AS PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS.

I agree that if a parent's addictions and misconduct are affecting a child, intervention is needed. Inclusive, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, any abuse for that matter. However, I've seen inadequate handling of said cases. In a specific case, I called CPS on my daughter in law about a year or so ago. She wasnt taking care of my grandaughter's needs in many ways. The case was turned around on my son. Instead of the case focusing on both of them it wasnt. When I tried to explain to the caseworkers what was going on they didnt want to hear it. I heard a mouth full about my son. Even when I showed the naked pictures of my grandaughter that she had posted on her facebook..guess what..still nothing. Or the ones of my grandaughter drinking the beer..still nothing. Alittle update: She's in a psych ward now bc she tried to commit suicided while my grandaughter ws present. As for my son...he hasnt been around her in a year. Now I tell the social worker at the hospital about her maternal grandmother..which is a major contributer in f'g up her daughter's life. I let her know that her stepdad sexual appetite..websites all day and night..his behavior towards my daughter in law. Guess what..the baby is still there. Makes you wonder how things operate. She needs help badly. I never get to see my grandaughter. Her maternal grandmother has her day and night. I was approved to supervise her and my son's visitation about a year ago. She decides to move out of state. The few times that I have seen her since she's been back are few and far between. But when she's here she doesnt want to go back home. She has horrible nightmares. Where is the justice? She's 3 years old now. Since she's been back she's been in the hospital twice because she had an "accident" while being under her maternal grandmothers care. Huge black and blue on her neck the size of a lemon and a bloody nose. The hospital xrayed her to see if it was broken. Probably because they suspected there was something going on. Her grandmother said her neck was bruised bc she ran in to the coffee table. Also, she doesnt want anyone to have her address. She obviously hiding something.What's wrong with this picture?
