Without a doubt, Daryl Scott.

You all are way too young, It had to be Darryl Heflin on offense and Randy Green on defense

front you look like you might wrestle with a root inyour mink coat you queer

Heflin was good not doubt. Best I think was probably Michael Parham. At least from the 70's to now. He was so good he made all state out his quarterback and himself.
Never saw Parham play, but heard he was real good. Saw Heflin, and he had to be the fastest ever around here and strong. He made some lineman all state. Green was just a beast, I knew him, and everybody in SEC was after him, but let other interests derail that

dave pollard. he was an animal. that lil feller would flat give some chin music

Ok, let's go real old school Mo McClung, 170 lb, starting tackle and team captain at Georgia back in the forties when they wore leather scullcaps and everybody had flat noses.
Pollard was good, wish he would stay off the radio with his keys to victory. Makes me want to poke my eyes out with a fork. Good guy though, same stuff every week. Agree, Parham was the best I ever saw play. Dean McManus would flat lay a lick on you though. |

Michael Parham, David Shippey, Tony House, some of the best I ever saw. Cliff "CT" Thompson, could knock the fire out of someone! Mitch Parker could ring your bell! Clayton McIntosh, Matthew McClure. Matthew McClure was a head hunter! Those Cash boys that are playing now are pretty awesome!

The karate kid CT Thompson, and big Mitch Parker were really good, but nobody, and I mean nobody was as good as Daryl Wiley. Just ask him. He even claimed he could drink a case of beer, run 5k, wrestle Jeff Jackson, and still whip the hell out of anybody on the football field.
A legend that Wiley is. |

Thanks for the props MBD2K. Those were some good times. |

Yep! You're welcome! I so enjoyed watching you all play. I loved going to the games on Friday nights. It seemed like there was electricity in the air. I mean the whole town seemed to be behind the Blue Devils. Businesses shut down, streets were closed and we all had a great time. It all seems so long ago now. I am so glad this thread was started because it gives me an opportunity to reflect on some great memories.
Hey Miss Blue Devil....did you ever go to the Methodist church after the game for a burger? Do they still do that? |
I did! That was the highlight!! They did do this a few years back but low participation by adults and high risk from fighting youth put this out of business. That is a shame too cause it was great. I can remember giving the football players a Standing "O" when they got there. That is when they won the game, which was most of the time.

Cliff Thompson still wears his jersey to bed.

Marcus Coggins name should be mentioned.

Didn't Darryl Scott major in beerology at Jax State?
