All of the illegals in the van were committing the pre-meditated crime of crossing the border illegally. Sorry, but I have no more sympathy for their stupidity in getting killed/injured than I would have for a thief, who gets killed or beaten by the would-be victim during the robbery. What is sad are idiot parents who put their children (especially infants and toddlers) in harm's way while committing any crime.

No sympathy for these ignorant people. I do have sympathy for the children who died, as well as the poor little girl who lived. At least now she's being raised by law abiding people (her grandparents)*and* she WANTED to testify. That speaks well of her character. Good for her!

The driver of that vehicle should be hung. It wasn't HIS fault? He didn't mean it? He could've died? Give me a break! Who RAN? Who caused a police chase that killed these people? If he'd stopped, they'd be alive. Of course he murdered them!

I believe this young lady will do something wonderful with her life. As for the 16 year old driver it's obvious he has a criminal mind and a huge liar. Now will we have to pay for his life behind bars? A murder charge & possibly the death sentence will follow?

Quote from article....

"I'm not an assassin," Toribio Gama told reporters Friday after court adjourned. "It was an accident.... I feel very badly about everything that happened. I could have even lost my life."

~~~~~~~~~~
Since he is ineligible for the death penalty let's hope he gets life without parole!
Bummer about the deaths - but they made the conscious decision to unlawfully enter the United States. Any time a decision is made to circumvent
the laws of a soverign nation by entering via Coyote illegally, a significant element of risk is involved. They were warned about the risk, and took it anwyway. They are JUST as culpable in the
deaths as the Coyote behind the wheel. No sympathy
for the parents or the Mexillegal "Coyote" who
profits from other peoples -- his own countrymen/womens'-- irresponsible decisions and illegal actions. The PARENTS put the children in
the circumstance leading to their untimely demise.
There are always going to be consequences for bad decisions...they consciously put themselves in a situation where there could be dangerous consequences, and thought they could beat the odds. Their parents obviously didn't teach them well enough that it is important to obey laws...the blame should fall on the victims and to their lack of good old-fashioned home training and resonable thought processes.
All I hear is blah, blah, blah, we're illegal aliens with no respect for the laws of your country.
You're getting close to the truth. Just stop calling yourself a taxpayer and you'll be even closer. If you pay $200 in taxes and use $40,000 worth of tax-paid services in welfare, medical care, court and jail services, police and fire protection, tax-paid education for you and your ten kids, tax credits for low income families with lots of kids (that match the 15k you earned), medical care and insurance pay-outs for the victims of your crimes; highway and other infrastructure use, etc., the meager taxes you pay by default for beer and cigarettes are irrelevant. The U.S. is losing its arse on guys like you. Working off jail time by picking up trash along the side of the roads are not recompense.
Daily Horoscope for December 27
Libra
You're full of empathy and affection today, so it would be a shame not to spread it around. It's a marvellous day for a low-key get-together with some of the people you haven't seen during the past few days, because you'll enjoy having a good chat about what's been happening. Once your social duties are out of the way you'll love curling up on the sofa with a good book or a favourite film.
