http://www.newsobserver.com/2012/01/13/177401... Nuclear alerts surged in 2011 Emergency alerts at U.S. nuclear plants surged in 2011, reaching twice the levels seen in the past decade, according to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The 62 events and alerts were caused by a spike in two areas: the Aug. 23 earthquake on the East Coast and an unusually high number of events related to toxic and flammable gas. Figuring among the 2011 statistics were all three nuclear plants owned by Progress Energy in the Carolinas, as well as N.C. State University's research reactor in Raleigh. Nuclear plants are required to report unusual events and emergencies. Most incidents cause no injuries and do not disrupt plant operations. The incident at the NCSU reactor and at Progress' Shearon Harris nuclear plant in Wake County were merely notifications to the NRC that the facilities felt the earthquake. But at Progress' Brunswick plant near Wilmington, a discharge of Halon, a gas used for extinguishing fires, resulted in a worker being hospitalized after he complained of chest pains. The earthquake that registered at magnitude 5.8 was the first time an operating U.S. reactor exceeded design limits for ground tremors. It caused a loss of offsite power to the North Anna Power Station in central Virginia.

You of little brains cannot or will not see the full picture. Look at Japan . Look at it . The Hermitage didn't even want to send their glass exhibit to Japan because of the radiation fears. There is NO amount of money that will be able to REMOVE THE STIGMA . Do you get this ? No amount . Irreplaceable works of art are now stigmatized. This is already being seen . I am speaking of about irreplaceable objects .Stigmatized. Lets not even talk about places that people live .People "are flocking " to move into the contaminated areas ? Health . Not even able to predict . So you Educated experts in nuclear bull crap , back off when you are talking to people who know. We are dealing with the bull crap that landed all over from nuclear experts like yourselves . Now go stand on a bridge and tutor people about grammar .

Now go stand on a bridge and tutor people about grammar . As usual, the content of your posts makes you look like an idiot. It wouldn't matter if your grammar was perfect. You blindly copied someone's lies about a lack of private insurance. I provided links which show that there is private insurance. You respond with "Irreplaceable works of art are now stigmatized" Therefore, people dismiss you as an idiot. The grammar is just icing on the cake.

No.
You are a clueless, pontificating brainless moron .
You are attempting once again to derail true , honest facts by trying to infer you know something about an area of expertise that you are not involved in .
Japan's unfortunate calamity has caused havoic not only in Japan but around the world. It has also affected certain markets in the USA.
People are holding their breath to see how this will shake out , honestly my opinion is years if we are lucky .Trying to do a monetary evaluation on anything associated with Japan will be difficult . The market will dictate but it doesn't look promising .We will proably have to prove objects have been here and weren't in Japan during the calamity. This will be next to impossible in most situations.
People do not want to be involved with goods that have been exposed to radiation.
Now people will proably want provences about objects with a clause that says it has passed a radiation test .
Thanks to the Nuclear Business.YOU people have changed life already as we know it.
I am so angry I could spit. Go stand on Mike's bridge and pontificate to the masses.

Are you attempting to come out as a lesbian Republican with the new handle?
